Trump’s Personal Assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, Steps Down
The New York Times ^ | 08/29/2019 | Annie Karni and Maggie Haberman

President Trump’s personal assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, whose office sits in front of the Oval Office and who has served as the president’s gatekeeper since Day 1 of his administration, resigned on Thursday, two people familiar with her exit said.

Ms. Westerhout’s abrupt and unexpected departure came after Mr. Trump learned on Thursday that she had indiscreetly shared details about his family and the Oval Office operations she was part of at a recent off-the-record dinner with reporters staying at hotels near Bedminster, N.J., during the president’s working vacation, according to one of the people, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss White House personnel issues...

Ms. Westerhout, a former Republican National Committee aide who also worked for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, reportedly cried on election night because she was upset over Mr. Trump’s victory. As such, the president at first viewed her warily, as a late convert to his cause who could not be trusted.

“at a recent off-the-record dinner with reporters..”

As soon as I found that out, I would fire her.

“and never really learned how to use the levers of power”

so given all the amazing things that Trump has accomplished in the last 3 years, you think he still hasn’t “learned how to use the levers of power”?

Anyone in the President’s administration that has ANY connection to Bush, Romney, McCain, Ryan and everyone else that has ever had a connection with a never-Trumper should be removed ASAP.

One other thing, often when a President comes into office he demands resignations for all the US Attorneys - some accepted some kept on but I do not recall reading whether PDJT did this - if not its never too late. ;-)

“She was a former RNC aide, and Reince Priebus was the Chief of Staff.”

And Reince Priebus is Paul Ryan’s BFF since childhood, IIRC.

Why is Trump making such dreadful personnel decisions? It says he was “wary” of her from the beginning, so WTF, Donald?

“Sometimes I think this whole Apprentice thing that Trump was in screwed up his ability to pick people to work with him”

so, apparently turning a few million from his dad into a billion was just dumb luck, right?

“Bella Donna” - “In Italian, a beautiful woman, in English, a deadly poison, thereby demonstrating the similarity of the two languages.”

(I believe that’s attributed to Anton Levay, but he probably stole it somewhere.)

” It says he was “wary” of her from the beginning, so WTF, Donald?”

it’s hilarious that you unquestionably believe something the New York Slimes claims based on an “anonymous source” ...

“Says the NY Times according to an anonymous source.”

exactly. so has about a 90% chance of being completely fabricated “news”, probably the only part that’s true is the resignation itself ...

I always said President Trump should have hired talented Freepers for all of these positions when he was first elected. They would be loyal to him!

It’s not too late. Get rid of the swamp.

If David Bossie & Corey Lewandowski were in the White House from the get-go surrounding Trump instead of the scum he took in none of this sh#t would have ever happened.

Donald Trump never would have won in 2016 without the help of the political campaign apparatus of the RNC. I’m sure many of these personnel decisions were part of deals that was made long before Election Day.

Wrong. Trump didn’t spend millions of his own money and do 2-3 rallies a day because he expected to loose. Why did he have deep staters in his midst? Because he had to consolidate his power. There were too many deep state obstructionists in Congress, the courts, and the bureaucracy for him to get every one he wanted from day one. It was going to take a couple of years to gain the leverage he needed to begin moving them out.
