Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

Philippians 4:6,7......Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God

I am clinging to this verse this morning....
....I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about all my family and friends in the path of this storm.......it could be heading straight at them ......they are in harms way
I prayed what is the best thing to do to help???.....I know Franklin Grahams Rapid Response Team is positioning.....as well as other organizations....
.....A very good source this morning has said it could be a Category 5
That would devastate our Space Coast community!
My husbands sisters are elderly and infirm.....cant even travel
My daughters family is in Orlando.....it will probably be hit hard too!
May God please turn this storm out to sea!!!!!
I always enjoy NautiNurse hurricane threads. Especially now, since these last few days weatherunderground, my main source for hurricane info, has disabled comments on it’s category 6 blog. I live right on the water (Galveston Bay) so I pay close attention to topical storms. Sorry if that brothers you and yes I’ll happily promote NN huricane theads for as long has she posts them.
That’s very nice, I’m pleased to hear it.
Have just sent my “prayer and petition”.
God bless and keep you and yours, dear Guenevere!

I agree - even the forecasters say 70% chance of Cat 3. And yes, going right over the gulf stream. The gulf stream is an amazing thing - it even creates its own localized weather patterns. It's also why some of the waters off the eastern seaboard of the US that are in or adjacent to the gulf stream are known as the ship's graveyard.
thanks for that link.
Bastardi’s business predicts weather for clients and makes money, so je must be right more than not
Thanks for the thread. I’m sitting and watching in Wilmington, NC where I rode out Florence last year.
One other thing about him, he appears to be very conservative in his politics. He makes many comments about global warming scams and junk science. Even about Gore and Hillary.
“praying for my kids in Boca Raton”
My younger daughter and son-in-law are in Boca, also. My older daughter’s son has a condo in Miami...36th floor! He’s attending graduate school at the U.
I’m nervous for all of them! In fact, I’m supposed to fly there next Wednesday. Not sure if that’s going to happen.
Exactly where landfall will be along the coast is still up for grabs.
I live away from any town in the country but I am on a major highway, so I'll get power restored, if it goes out, pretty quickly. Probably in a day or two. People just a couple of miles off the highway, went weeks to get power back on after the last blow.
The hurricanes give our many oak trees a haircut and there is debris everywhere. Tree debris cleanup after the last storm took my wife and I two weeks, working every day, to pick it all up and haul to our burn pile. We have 30 acres and limbs fall on the fences and the cows can get out. Yikes! :-)
Good luck to you.
I will join you in prayer.
I wasn’t in Florida then so I am not familiar with what happened.
Great education. Thanks.
Wednesday may be OK. My son is putting his wife and baby on a plane to go visit her parents this morning. He cannot leave due to work obligations. Praying for all in the path of the storm.
Prayers are good while folks are preparing for Dorian.
