Warren also has a very elaborate economics platform that her campaign has developed as well. It’s very deliberate that she is trying to appeal to working class rust belt voters that Biden was supposed to attract.

My opinion is that Democrats know this election is pretty much over for them so they just need a throw-away candidate...no point in running an up-and-comer until the next election.
Biden’s gaffes, also in my opinion, are not so much that he’s an idiot (which is debatable given his position of power) but are a result of him not really caring. He knows he’s a placeholder and is probably not happy that he’s been asked to fall on his sword for the party. It would be hard to fake interest and energy in such a position.
Not caring and not paying attention (contributing to gaffes) show his distain, and the Democrats’ disdain for the voting public.
