Top George W. Bush speechwriter: 'Trump presidency is not just unfolding, it is unraveling'
Washington Examiner ^ | Aug 20 2019 | Tim Pearce

Washington Post columnist Michael Gerson, who worked in the White House under former President George W. Bush, said the Trump presidency is “unraveling.”

Gerson bashed President Trump in his latest column published Thursday. Bush’s top aide and director of presidential speech writing outlined a series of attacks against Trump and his policies from immigration and foreign policy to the president’s unpredictable rhetoric.

"The Trump presidency is not just unfolding, it is unraveling. All narcissists believe they are at the center of the universe," Gerson wrote. "But what happens when a narcissist is actually placed at the center of the universe? The 'chosen one' happens."

to the president’s unpredictable rhetoric

The entire rant is disconnected from reality, but then again, that is the chosen tactic of those opposed to President Trump. This part is one of the things that absolutely drives his opponents bat shit crazy.

President Trump is unpredictable in many ways, and that is something these quislings were/are unprepared to cope with.

The spotlight is no longer on past "incompetents", and the direction they wanted us to follow is being rejected. Too bad!

Carson was a speech writer and now a writer.

He was a propagandist then and now.

Some people are so entrenched in the ways that they first learned and understood things - or found their meal-ticket! - that they can’t keep up with the changing zeitgeist.

(And things seem to be changing faster now than they’ve ever done. It takes a lot of flexibility - and courage! - to understand and center oneself in a new paradigm; and some people can’t muster that.)

The question throughout history will be whether he was an incompetent fool or a very sick man who deliberately strove to destroy the nation. JMHO

This is just the “preseason”, as it were. It’s going to get much more vicious and I wouldn’t be surprised to see physical sabotage on certain pieces of our infrastructure.

Hey Gerson you dummy. This is what draining the swamp looks like. Hard to undo 60+ years of corruption in the cesspool called Washington DC.

Is it just me, or have we heard this every other day since July 2015?

Speech writers aren't generally placed very high up the totem pole. They aren't strategists. They aren't policy gurus. They watch a lot of strategizing, and policy wonkery — but, like the eunuchs in the harem, they can't actually do any of that. Their skill set overlaps that of “journalists”, and they often transition to MSM jobs; so the MSM gives them more respect than they merit. They're just scribes.

I don’t think it’s that complicated...I think they just don’t see that the more they pile the BS on President Trump, the stronger his base becomes...Also, their common sense level is pretty damn low...

This is an old speech, written years ago by someone who probably advised president Bush that he shouldn’t fight back against the “Bush lied people died” drumbeat and that he should just get along (little doggy).

Bush League Republicans MUST become extinct before the Republic does.

Flimsey Grahamnesty STILL wants to give the Democrats a permanent majority with amnesty for illegal aliens.

Gerson has been rabidly anti-Trump from Day One, so anything he says is hardly newsworthy.

Let me see...

The President just sealed a trade deal with Japan...and I have lost count of how many deals he has made.

He has gotten the deadbeat Euros to cough up some more money for their own frikkin' defense.

We have wall construction on the Mexican border.

We have record low unemployment for Hispanic and Black people.

The DJIA is at record highs.

The soft coup by the corrupt punks in the FBI and CIA has unraveled, and impeachment is a dead issue.

The President's approval rating is comparable or better than his immediate predecessor at the same stage of his Presidency.

The President hasn't gotten us into another war-- unlike his Nobel Peace Prize-winning immediate predecessor.

This speech writer needs to hit the beach, grab some sand, and pound it.

trumThis was said in Spring 2016... Trump’s campaign was in chaos. His campaign manager was replaced due to the chaos. and on and on.

I’m not impressed with Trump’s Tweets. But then I’ve never been on Twitter.

But the economy, the court picks, the foreign policy other than tariffs are impressive. I think the tariff wars are 50-50 . They could result in a win, in a loss, or in a draw.

“W” is for Worthless. At best.
If one examines the “M” in Michael Gerson with his head in the nether region, it will also appear as a “W”.
