WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi still isn’t ready to launch impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.
Pelosi told House Democrats on a conference call Friday, “The public isn’t there on impeachment.”
She told them the case needs to be “as strong” as possible.
“If and when we act, people will know he gave us no choice,” Pelosi said, according to an aide granted anonymity to discuss the private call.
More than half the House Democrats support opening an impeachment inquiry. But Pelosi said the House must weigh its “responsibility to protect and defend the Constitution” with the need to be “unifying and not dividing.”

She can’t say it, but not only would Trump win the Senate vote (where 20 Republicans would have to cross over for him to be removed) - right now, he’d probably also win the House vote, where all but 20 Democrats must vote for Impeachment, assuming Amish (Republican) joins the Dems, but no other Republican joins them.
Don’t get me wrong, those 20 plus Dems HATE Trump as much as the Squad, but they also want to hold their seats in districts that could easily flip back to the Republicans.
Pelosi can’t say that, of course.

Nancy’s trying to delay impeachment to start closer to the 2020 election. Good idea.
But the public doesn’t want impeachment. The public is not stupid. They know most things have gotten better under President Trump. Why kill the Golden Goose (President Trump) that laid the Golden Egg (economy, employment, border wall, etc)?

IIRC, it was just last week or the week before, that CNN, MSNBC, and Fox reported that 66% supported impeachment...

The same IRS that targets conservatives whenever when a Democrat president lets them? Fat chance they’ll audit Pelosi no matter how crooked she is.
I’m happy that her final years in Congress have been and will continue to be stressful with high anxiety levels.
