A CONNECTICUT YANKEE: ”THOU SWELL“

He was one of greatest sax players in the game. This 1951 recording is another reason why the 1950s was such a great decade for jazz.

Rain? Rain? What’s that????

I hope you are getting some of it.

We had a bit of sun and blue sky yesterday, but upon awaking this morning we had so much smoke that I couldn’t see the mountains. *sigh*

We had a little thunderstorm pop up this afternoon and got 2/10ths of an inch. Not good, but way better than nothing. I’d love to see a few more of those. This coming Monday, it’s supposed to be 107. We’re on fire from the sun.

I hope y’all do get a good soaking soon so the fires will go out. How many acres have burned so far? I feel so bad for you all up there. I hope you can stay in out of the smoke this weekend. Can’t be good for the lungs or eyes.

Anything you get is good...I heard on the news today that the fire to the north has taken 50 homes and several businesses. Not good at all!

No hint of rain, but the temps are starting to drop into the 60s...this will help some.
