The President of the United States wants to buy an icy northern territory from a foreign country. Critics hate the idea and mock it as absurd and wasteful. But the President makes the deal, and the purchase proves to be one of the most brilliant geopolitical deals in historya huge boon to American strength and prosperity.
Am I describing the 45th Presidents effort to buy Greenland from Denmark? Nope, Im describing the 17th Presidents successful effort to buy Alaska from Russia in 1867. It was one of the best bargains America ever struck.
If President Trump can pull off another deal like that, I say God bless him! Greenlands vast arctic expansewhich, at over 800,000 square miles, is more than a quarter the size of the U.S. Lower 48is surely another Alaska in terms of untapped wealth. The media would do well to chill with mocking President Trump and instead learn some U.S. history. Our countrys desire to purchase Greenland predates the purchase of Alaska.
....Under President Lincoln, Seward steered Americas diplomacy during the Civil War, and that experience gave him a deep appreciation of the importance of territory as a source of both wealth and security. He understood that the possession of a given piece of land can be used as a forward military base for the United States, and therefore not as launching pad for a potential foe.
....
With that in mind, Sewards first idea was to purchase
Greenland. Thats right, he pursued Greenland first. But the Danes wouldnt sell. Seward also wanted to buy islands in the Caribbean from, again, Denmark. And once again, the Danes wouldnt sell, although in that instance the sale finally did go through in 1917, and thats how Uncle Sam came to own the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Russians werent smart enough to do much with Alaska beyond over-whaling and over-hunting. So when Seward offered the Tsar two-cents an acre$7.2 million for the whole kit and caboodlethe art of this deal created a bigger, better, safer, and richer America.

The secret? Trump’s anti climate change policies will cause big global warming and this will make Greenland a warm paradise as it was thousands of years ago. He’ll have a golf course and two Trump Towers to enrich his retirement after his two terms are over. (I’m kidding!!)
So far, Iceland is green and Greenland is icy.
And so the left gets trolled again, they can't not mock and disparage anything this President says or does. They just cain't hep theyself, bless their hearts. Now, they're all boxed in with their own indignant words, it's unconscionable, it's stupid to even contemplate selling territory in the modern era. It's just not done.
Denmark will come to their senses, and Greenland will soon be our 51st State.
How soon before Snopes (as official Fact Cheka of the Democrat Party) debunks this humor?
Wish he would hire her. She is such a wasted asset to this administration.
The Greenland Purchase (may it come to pass!) should earn Donaldus Magnus a place on Mount Rushmore.
We’d better grab Greenland before the Chicoms take it over completely.
+ 1
I voted for Palin in 2012....McLame came along for the ride.
Like a great lawyer....Trump already knew the response!....lol..
He really is a “Magnificent Bastard” the way he trolls them!!
You realize this lady is dumb dont you? All the idiots in the MSM said so. /s
You Betcha!!
F@#$ Denmark, those puny weak euro’scum weenies, let’s just take it. F@#$ NATO.
If we get Greenland, then Trump can sell the name to Iceland!
Greenland under no circumstances should go to the Chicoms or any other American enemy.
Thats what POTUS is trying to prevent.
