Trump's coming trade agreement with China will amaze everyone: One Main Sticking Point Left
American Thinker ^ | 08/22/2019 | By Fritz Pettyjohn

During the course of his remaining five and a half years in office, President Trump will come to an understanding with China. Trade will be only a part of it. There will be established a concord, or state of agreement, between the two most powerful nations in the world. It will result in a peaceful 21st century.

Trump will cut the part on trade sometime between now and the election fifteen months from now. He'll time it so he receives the maximum political benefit. It will ignite the markets, and the economy will assure him of re-election.

The sticking point of any deal with China is enforcement. The Chinese are not good for their word. So Trump has thus far insisted that terms of the deal must be written into Chinese law. But President Xi has been unable to deliver. His power is limited.

At some point, Trump will relent on enforcement, and the deal is cut. After all, the laws of a communist government aren't worth the paper they're written on anyway. The only real enforcement of a trade deal with China is going to be American retaliation when the Chinese cheat. Trump knows retaliation.

Also, any trade deal between the two most powerful economies in the world comes with an expiration date. Regardless of its terms, it will remain in effect only as long as both countries remain satisfied with it.

But President Xi has been unable to deliver. His power is limited.

Why would this be in a Communist regime?

Trump knows the reality is China is in the same position the USSR was in when Reagan came into office: teetering on collapse. It “looks” better because of the very recent rapid buildup due to putting millions of “hands to the tiller,” but productivity is stalled.

Worse, China is facing a DEpopulation problem. By 2032, the US will be a younger nation than China by a full three years. The “one child” policy is now reaping its full, evil rewards.

Trump has his own “containment” going, involving trade, weapons sales to Taiwan, strengthening, S. Korea, de-fanging the Pot Bellied Rocketman, and reinvigorating relations with Japan. As more and more American companies pull out of China, their economy and trade are hurt (think Reagan reducing inflation and the price of oil, thereby cutting two of the main legs out from under the USSR’s hard currency).

The biggest hurdle remaining is Apple and tech operating in China, which is dangerous in two ways. Obviously there is the cash money side, but the more infectious problem is that they can embed all sorts of spy gear in Apple and other products.

I’m confident Trump will win this as well.

RE: Why would this be in a Communist regime?

He might look like a powerful dictator, but he needs the support of his Politburo. A leader is only as strong as his weakest link, and most of the individual members of the Politburo need to be appeased.

Thanks for the great post.

I’ve seen images of YUGE towns and skyscrapers built but it looks like everyone left town.

And there’s a lot of them.

Some say the people are coming.

I thought it was the other way around.

Not a chance. The Chinese will drag their feet for that very reason. They're hoping that Trump is a one-term president and they can deal with his replacement.

——His power is limited.——

There you have the essence of the situation. The old guard is reluctant to change anything tht will result in their loss of power. There are young and very young pushing for change to allow more economic and personal freedom.

The young have traveled and seen and experienced first hand how much of the rest of the world lives. Many are American and UK educated. They know first hand how life can be lived.

There are hundreds of thousands in the streets of Hong Kong. If they turnout en masse in Shanghai or other Pearl River city centers, the old guard has a serious problem. The demonstrators will be seeking the old guard heads

As a loser that is still losing, it is going to be a sad day for you when your antitrade isolationist delusions are trashed and the President’s goals prevail

Have a clause that states every shipment is OPIOID FREE AND HAS BEEN INSPECTED FOR THEM. DO the same with Mexico shipments.

An AGREEMENT with China is really a foregone conclusion.

The REAL concern is whether they will honor it.

As you can see by the current turmoil in Hong Kong, due to mainland China NOT honoring an existing AGREEMENT, the Chinese CANNOT be trusted to honor ANY agreement they make.

Trump and his TEAM will eventually celebrate being able to accomplish arriving at an AGREEMENT with China.

How long China honors that agreement will be the question.

Being a protectionist in not the same as being an isolationist. China is a very protectionist, actually they practice overt MERCANTILISM!!! In no way would anyone call them isolationists. You fail again.

China's Leaders: Who Holds the Real Power?
The 7- to 9-member Politburo Standing Committee is chosen in secret. Here are the candidates
By Dexter Roberts September 27, 2012, 4:11 PM PDT

When he assumes the presidency in March, Xi will not rule alone. He’s a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo, the country’s top leadership body. “The No. 1 leader has some initiative and power. But he is a first among equals and has a lot of restraints,” says Cheng Li, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and an expert on the politics of China’s elite. “Their power is far less than the power of the U.S. president.”

All of the people in that body are Xi’s handpicked cronies. But the reality is that in any dictatorship or monarchy, power resides in the control of the security organs. It’s a continuous balancing act, but Xi is head of the Central Military Commission and all of the senior officers not appointed by Xi have been purged.

Side bar Input: It’s amazing.....POTUS, Trump squeaked out a victory in the Iowa State Fair “Corn Kernel POTUS Poll” winning with 33,280 kernel votes vs. 33,065 kernel votes for all twenty-four (24) Democrat Party 2020 POTUS candidates.

POTUS Trump, of course wiped up the political floor, defeating the Democrat poll leader Joe Biden. Trump bested Biden, defeating him by 32,375 votes to Biden’s paltry 8,143 votes.

This amazing outcome came forth after Democrat 2020 candidates probably spent millions of bucks to campaign their pitches at the Iowa State Fair and, they are also spending tons of campaign funds in the state of Iowa leading up the the Iowa Caucus’s.

The bottom line is: the citizens and voters in Iowa were not kind to any Democrats at all. There were no crowds of cheering supporters, as was the case in the 2016 POTUS race. Fact is: the Democrat gig was boring and at best, with little substance, content or agenda for voters to consider.

The mere stark fact that Trump did not spend one penny in Iowa Campaigning in the Iowa state Fair chasing votes. But....the voters of Iowa, on their own, bluntly stated by their kernel votes...”We want Trump in 2020!!! Case closed!!!

The Mainstream Media will be silent as this most important, political weather vane for the POTUS election of 2020.
