(CNN)It's the news cat owners have been waiting for: Owning lots of cats does not, in fact, mean you're mad, sad or anxious.

Somebody here might say having 3 cats like I do is too much but they all came into my life for a different reason and all 3 were abandoned & left outside.

They vary in ages from the oldest he’s probably about 15 or 16 yrs old now

The middle one who came to me first is about 14 now

The youngest who found her way to me was the saddest tale of all. She was left abandoned in the woods by the train tracks at less than 2 wks old. She was fed with a bottle for a while. Then the oldest here took over & he showed her how “to be a cat”. He is very nurturing with all kittens.
They all understand what Im saying to them and
The youngest I taught how to sit down and I have a 100% compliance rate.

Each one is a joy...

Students go into psycology because they are seeking psychological help and want to heal themselves without the stigma. But most of them fail to heal themselves so they just claim to be normal.

Nice deflection. The way to stay sober is to not drink booze. The way to keep your house smelling animal free is to take great care in maintaining your pet’s hygiene.

Crazy cat women are actually quite lovely:

Same here.

All were abandoned by cowards. The ones that survive and make it to the house (usually fall) get a home.

We he had four until last weekend. She was 15 and suffered a stroke. We had her at the local vet hospital where we were waiting to see what type of recovery there could be. Daughter was out of town on a project (her rescue from elementary school) and she stopped in to see her on her way home. We went by later to have her put down because she was locking in. She indeed recognized us, responding to our touch and whispers. As we turned to talk to the vet she passed. She waited for the last visit and made the decision for us.

All our cats are long lived so 15 was a shock to us.

Dogs and cats are pets. Different personalities and different needs. Care for both as household companions and that is what they will be. I know those that have never had both from the comments on this thread.

Congratulations on caring for the rescues. It is very rewarding for both cat and people.

As someone who has owned cats all my life I can tell you that there is no such animal as an “obedient cat”-they will only obey when they choose to-usually at mealtime when their owner puts their bowl down and says “come get your dinner, kitty”-any other time, you can forget obedience...

BTW, I’ll be delighted to share the new standard with my hubby.

As long as they’re not in the freezer, I can have all the cats I want and not be a crazy cat lady!!!
