We use to have these things called satellites that could take pretty high res pictures instead of giving the Iranians something to brag about.
The drone was missile bait. It was aa tool for gaining intellegence about missile capabilities.
The way to defeat the Houthi is carpet bombing a city. Kill them all
[I didn’t know we are involved there also?

And much more dispensable as well. The U.S. military has thousands of them at their disposal.
It is no "black eye" to the US to have a drone shot down. Well within the range of acceptable losses.
Next time, have them fly in pairs. An old drone flying low as missile bait, and a higher-flying drone with JDAMs to target the missile launch point.
Yemen is at entrance to the Red Sea, a very narrow entrance. All traffic going to and from the Suez Canal from the South passes within a few miles of Yemen. Iran now controls Yemen.
Literally anyone with a computer or smartphone and access to the internet can know when a US spy satellite will be overhead and able to see them - so they know when to hide.
The above is *real time* data collected from civilian space surveillance resources - surface to orbit radar, infrared and other systems.
Drones are not easily visible to literally everyone on the planet and do not have predictable orbits.
Satellites have predicted orbital paths that allow those on the ground to hide their actions when a satellite is overhead. A drone is not as predictable and thus help in getting a better picture.
And FYI, there is no such thing as stealth in space. If it’s in orbit and bigger than a lunchbox, it’s tracked by *several* civilian organizations. That’s before we get to the government and military types watching orbit. If you put something up in space, *everyone* can see it, knows where it is and knows what it can see.
We used to have people that would keep up to date with basic technology...
