I have a weakness for that Poppy Family song in post 60. The drums are so oddly hyperactive for such a maudlin tune, as if Mitch Mitchell tripped out and showed up in a studio in Vancouver and didnt notice it was Terry and Susan, not Jimi and Noel.

We also have Steely Dan to thank for Michael McDonald as he was singing backup for them before Tom Johnston ulcered out of the Doobies.
Michael did far more damage to the 80s than the 70s though, so I havent brought him up till now.

Howdy, radu!
You got the same score that I did. I guess I didn’t pay much attention to bad or good then. I was in a sappy-songs mode then, too.

I don't think Slim Whitman had anything to do with any recording of The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly.

Never really liked the Doobies, but Jeff “Skunk” Baxter is cool.
Steely Dan was awesome.

Howdy, LUV.
They needed an “all of the above” option in that quiz. I would have checked that most of the time. LOL! The ‘70s were pretty lame music-wise for the most part.

The thing that triggers me off about this thread is I hate Top 40.
But that’s what makes the girls dance.

They sure were. Except for the protest songs of the early ‘70s, it was all downhill. And I wasn’t a protester, I just liked the music.

Agreed. I was very uncomfortable answering that one. Beyond the fact that two are dead, each one of them was an integral part of the group.
