Sorry, Rush. There are numerous legitimate studies showing that there are spikes of heart attacks and vehicle accidents right after the DST change, so yes, it is killing people.
At the same time, it’s a legitimate point that without DST, many of the northern states would have sunrise before 4am in the summer, and on full-time DST the sun would set before 4pm in the winter.
Spread the word to just go back to standard time and forget about warming the earth with that extra hour of sun; when I was a kid I always wondered where the sun went at night, then it dawned on me.
So at a baseball game, I saw a ball coming toward me, then it hit me....

According to Dave Hunt (RIP) the Sun gets tired and settles into a slimy pit at night. I don’t remember for sure but I think he said it’s in the Koran. Maybe it’s the Hadiths.
He said there was other nonsense like that in there.
But we get and ‘extra’ hour of sleep in teh FALL!............

So perhaps the answer is to "split the difference" and shift the time ONCE by half an hour. The Olson database of time zone data is more than capable of dealing with this.
Don't like this idea? Then split the existing time zones into two or four smaller time zones.
As I recall my history, the idea of "time zones" was originally done to help the railroads, because the original timetables showed "local time" which varied widely. The DST shifts were an attempt to save fuel for lighting.

Get rid of daylight savings time altogether - NOT permanent daylight savings time. Trash the whole concept of DST. If you want to golf, get up earlier.
