Those pining for the comforts of "Prairie Home Companion" are getting the ultimate Christmas gift.
Garrison Keillor will reunite with key members of the old gang for a series of holiday shows, starting with a performance Nov. 30 at the Pantages Theater in Minneapolis. Stops in San Francisco, New York and Atlanta have also been announced.
The shows will include actors Sue Scott and Tim Russell, as well as sound effects wizard Fred Newman and musicians from Guy's All-Star Shoe Band. Most of the alum members remained on the radio program after Chris Thile took over in 2016, but were eventually dropped as the new host changed the title to "Live From Here" and has attempted to give the public-radio program a new identity.
Many guests and regulars from the "PHC" days have also signed up for a theme cruise to the Caribbean for spring 2020.
Keillor has kept a low profile -- at least by his standards -- since he was accused nearly two years ago of inappropriate behavior at work and several venues canceled his appearances.

I was hoping we’d heard the last of him.
Yawn!
I guess this #MeToo thing was just a fad. Halperin is writing an anti-Trump book; now Keillor is back to the PHC.
No doubt Al Franken will run for office again and Matt Lauer will turn up somewhere soon.
I always liked the show. I listened for years before I found out he was a lib, and that was no problem for me if it wasnt inserted in the show. I dont remember that it was
I really don’t know how anyone ever listened to that.
I guess this #MeToo thing was just a fad
Like everything else out of Hollywood.
I never bothered to hear the first of him.
Seems to me that the whole #MeToo thing was a ploy to get President Trump. The Left was willing to sacrifice a number of pawns in their side in order to create a climate where simply accusing someone like Trump or Kavanaugh would be sufficient to cause instant destruction.
But it didn’t work. Because we fought back.
And so now the pawns like Kiellor and Halperin are just coming on back like nothing happened. Maybe Charlie Rose can get a new TV show too. And Matt what’s-his-name.
I liked the show. In fact, I was always surprised that he included so many hymns without getting censored by the public radio bigwigs or a lawsuit from the likes of the aclu
I loved his “stories” ... but caught his show right after George Bush was elected (next morning), I had never heard a “celebrity” TRASH a newly-elected president like that. I haven’t listened to him since.
#MeForget
Keillor always had Christmas shows, not holiday shows. I was a fan, dont care that he dissed George Bush. Im a conservative who couldnt stand Bush, so that didnt bother me
#NeverMind
Maybe you're from that area, but this Georgia boy just didn't get it.
That smarmy, sneering, condescending jackass should go try living on the prairie for real.
I was just thinking of whatshisname, with all the talk of Greenland, “owned” by Denmark.
The first I heard of Keillor was in the WSJ, 1990s maybe, and he was praising the wonders of Denmark’s welfare state. His wife at the time was Danish.
When youre talking about Keillor trashing Bush after election, Are you talking about Bush re-election in 2004? Even though I gladly voted for him in 2000, I hated Bush by 2004 - he had already set fire to the Middle East with his idiotic invasion of Iraq, and he had made his open borders preferences clear. So it didnt bother me to hear him deservedly trashed by celebrities. Somebody had to tell the truth, since Rush and most conservatives were lying to themselves and cheering everything he did
And if anyones going to call me a DUmmy for sayingvthis about Bushs policies, including Iraq, dont forget - Trump says the exact same thing
