When it comes to mass shootings, America lives in two separate worlds. The first is the one of Gilroy, California, El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio among many others. They follow a familiar script: a white shooter using a high-powered weapon kills multiple victim and this carnage is quickly followed by public outrage, intensive on-site media coverage, and never-ending publicized pronouncements on gun violence, and, in recent years, condemnation of Trump’s alleged racism and xenophobia that fuels such carnage.
The second universe consists of urban, black-on-black shootings, typically of the drive-by-shooting variety using handguns where relatively few are killed but many more are wounded, including innocent bystanders and children. Though the per incident death toll tends to be small compared to the first type of incident, their cumulative impact far exceeds what has transpired at El Paso or Dayton.
Most importantly, these incidents of inner-city killings scarcely generate widespread outrage and it is inconceivable that President Trump would visit Baltimore or Chicago to console victims. If anything, candidates for office, particularly Democrats, typically ignore these murders. In a nutshell, the reaction to black-on-black mass killing, even when children are murdered, is ho-hum.
The standard politically correct explanation for this disparity in attention stresses how black lives are undervalued by an allegedly racist society. Furthermore, intended black shooting victims are often gangbangers with felony records so why should law-abiding Americans be outraged? Good riddance, some might say. One might also suppose that the liberal-leaning media hardly wants to publicize inner-city pathologies that might encourage white racism. By contrast, the media willingly devotes hour upon hour to white shooters, everything from their childhood to interviews with parents and friends. It is no wonder, then, that millions of American believe that we are awash in white racism or white supremacy

Yet no one is asking for a ban on cars and/or booze.

The car culture is relatively immune. Ever seen any animal activist throw paint on a Jag or Caddy protesting its leather seats?

One big reason we are “awash” in white hatred...the population of voting non whites is growing.and the politicians at the democratic party are going to stress that hatred to get those votes for their non white candidates. It is a blatant, ugly self serving strategy.
I recall Oprah trying to work with girls in the cities gettos in obtaining an education and better life. She finally threw in the towel, and went to Africa to open schools there because the girls weren’t willing to work for what they want.
And it works as well as gun laws :)
A ban on humans is the only surefire way to end all killings.
And the left would love that.
... and shoot-a-lot-ers ... if the gangs all mysteriously disappeared one day no matter whose precious babies they once were the communities that they terrorized could once again put roots down and spread their branches above. Yes, it would take time for a full turn around but when there’s no subclass of habitual violent criminal Idiots mucking up the works things would quickly improve in many important respects.

I would use my 2nd amendment rights anyway to protect my right to own my gas guzzling, performance enhanced loud as heck exhaust, black beauty Dodge Challenger.

Consider that the attitudes she faced included those held by the education establishment where some want to teach what enhances race grievances rather than educate what opens up opportunities.
This was directly the cause for the failure of the Chicago Annenburg Challenge as run by Obama and other Ayers’ cronies. They could have invested in remedial education and practical skills.

That alone is insufficient. People have to be very carefully taught to hate.
The Left may neglect reading, writing and arithmetic but they make sure to teach hate, social justice and to promote sexual madness.
