After the horrific mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, a local news station in North Carolina wants to know if the state's two Republican senators will stand up to the NRA.
"Do something!" the Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) wrote in a Monday editorial, urging Sens. Richard Burr and Thom Tillis to take swift decisive action to enact gun safety legislation.
"Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis need to let the North Carolinians know who ranks at the top of their priority list," the CBC editorial urged. Burr has received just shy of $7 million from the NRA while Tillis has raked in $4.4 million from the group opposed to popular, commonsense gun safety legislation.
Tillis, who faces a tough reelection race in 2020, has an A+ rating from the NRA, which is " the highest possible rating and is reserved for legislators with an excellent voting record on critical NRA issues." Burr also has an A+ rating.
"If their priority is the people of the state they represent, they must be in the forefront of demanding the U.S. Senate take up and pass two bills the House of Representatives passed last February — the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and the Enhanced Background Checks Act," the CBC editorial advised.

There are times when we really should thank the Rats for removing RINOs from our ranks. They have been jealous of the NRA for decades. They hoped to place a firm foundation under their base with abortion but rational people find abortion pretty “icky”, not sexy like a rifle at all.

The people of the state they represent are known as ‘tar heelers,’ and they own guns and want to continue owning guns, and do not like Yankees trying to take away their guns. If Tillis caves to these dim bulbs, he will have an even harder reelection race in 2020.
The political contributions made by they guys running the Capitol Broadcasting Company make interesting reading...

All those northeasterners moving to North Carolina turning it blue, just like the Californians moving to AZ and Texas. Liberalism is a festering disease that destroys everything it touches.
Sens. Richard Burr and Thom Tillis should take this as an opportunity to educate the press to the purpose of the 2nd Amendment and how it protects the entire “free world” by preventing a totalitarian government from coming to power in the United States.
Sadly, this kind of thing makes GOP senators quake in their boots. They will probably start sputtering about hunting and background checks and red flag laws.
Senator Tillis might have a tough time with several of these demands... A vote for Garland Tucker, is a vote against that dirty *%#&@^
I sent both of them a note to take this editorial as a teaching opportunity.

There is not a politician out there who wouldn’t be happy to see the citizenry dis-armed.
I know. But in the interim, we can use it for cathartic mockery. Sort of like stomping on bubble wrap when we were kids.
You’d be surprised how many guns we Yankees have. And won’t give up. Don’t confuse the cities with the country.
