Crenshaw said, Clearly, when we said Red Flag Laws you guys stop listening, you cant hear what we are suggesting, because understandably you automatically assume that we are just agreeing with the lefts version of that law. And we all know the lefts version would not be good, it would not protect due process.
Crenshaw continued, At its heart what we are talking about is the ability to confiscate weapons where there is evidence that violence is about to be committed. Its that simple, and this isnt that controversial.
He went on to explain that everything turns on due process and how due process would be protected under the type of Red Flag Laws Crenshaw supports. He suggested the difference between what he supports and the lefts blatantly unconstitutional laws all boils down to how due process is protected.

Et tu, Danno?
It will inevitably become the lefts version within years, if not months. Not giving an inch.
But he has such a cool eye patch!
"Shall not be infringed", Danny-boy.
Your oath to protect and defend the Constitution has not expired. You're becoming one of those "domestic enemies" your oath mentioned.
I don’t understand why we keep having gun “conversations” on the left’s terms. I’ll listen to the “red flag” argument when it’s bootstrapped to national CCW permit reciprocity. Watch how fast the “conversation” is dropped then.
Someone needs to ask Rep Crenshaw if Red Flag laws would make it less likely that fellow vets would seek help for mental health issues (knowing that their gun might be taken).
Traitor.
Let's ask the precogs about how that worked out.
So you're clairvoyant now?
Evidence? What evidence, how is it collected in advance of a crime being committed (or not) and by whom? Who gets to determine due process? A star chamber? A DA with a reputation to make? Some gun grabbing activist judge?
All I see is a steep slippery slope with the incline properties of a cliff. And to think this guy had promise. Just another swamp critter.
Eets booosheet senor Dan.
Oh Christ! Maybe his time on SNL turned him into a candy ass.
Crenshaw is Sasse with prior military service. I’ve not been a fan since he was gratuitously attacking POTUS during campaign season. I expect he’ll do the same in 2020.
Dan, you probably haven’t been in the hunt that long, so let me bring this up.
Leftist prosecutors bring charges before Leftist courts. Women seeking custody of children and gaming divorce litigation, also come before Leftist courts.
How much due process do you think a Conservative man will get from those courts, who already think Conservative men are White Supremacist KKK acolytes?
Good luck with your not-Left ideas. They’re going to be stripped right out from under you.
Background checks, okay. Confiscations, you better write some very very stiff language in there. And after you have, you just watch how long it takes the Left to replace it after the fact.
It’s very simple. If you’re safe to move around freely in society, your God-given right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The threshold for infringing on that right must be identical to the threshold for incarceration/institutionalization.
This shouldn’t be about “confiscation” at all.
It should be about locking up the 7%.
I am not a Crenshaw fan.
Sorry, Dan, no sale. What "evidence" are we talking about here? An anonymous phone call? A restraining order which the defendant can't contest? A list of NRA members sent in from a friendly local gun control group? What "evidence"? And what recourse does the defendant have if the charges are bogus and the court still won't give him or her the property back? A ruinously expensive lawsuit taking months or more? A "buyback" consisting of a $100 Starbucks card? Dan, buddy, we're suspicious because our opponents are liars and crooks. And you know it.
Excellent point but
The left is still controlling the narrative and the timing of getting Trump re-elected is more important.
Flame me if you want but I think Crenshaw is retreating to a position of strength.
