If so, if they are capable of making these serious decisions and taking these serious actions, then we should be able to draft them. They should be able to join the highest risk military. They should be tried as adults for all crimes, and they should be able to sign legally binding contracts - for a house, for a credit card, whatever. They should be able to operate heavy machinery and work with caustic chemicals. They should be able to drink alcohol etc.
If you are going to be consistent. Adulthood is a concept with meaning.
