True American Nationalism Is Inclusive

When the New York Times dropped a factual headline because of partisan complaints (including criticism from several Democratic presidential candidates), it proved again that the liberal media is no longer even pretending to be an objective source of information. The front-page headline read “TRUMP URGES UNITY VS. RACISM” in the President's address in the wake of the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton. And this is exactly what he did. He decried “destructive partisanship” and declared "our nation must condemn racism, bigotry, and white supremacy. These sinister ideologies must be defeated. ” He denounced "These barbaric slaughters [as] an assault upon our communities, an attack upon our nation.... We are a loving nation, and our children are entitled to grow up in a just, peaceful, and loving society." These sentiments do not fit the liberal-left narrative that accuses President Trump of being the source of social division. Yet, anyone who looks at the true record beyond the coffeehouse babble of left-wing activists finds that America's chief executive has consistently stressed national unity.

Consider President Trump's Inaugural Address, which contained the strongest language one can imagine in support of an explicitly anti-racist definition of America. He proclaimed. "A new national pride will stir our souls, lift our sights, and heal our divisions. It is time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget: that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots, we all enjoy the same glorious freedoms, and we all salute the same great American Flag.

Here’s the thing about Democrat politicians.

It’s not about Democrat versus Republican.
It’s not about Liberal versus Conservative.
It’s not about helping poor people.
It’s not about the environment.
It’s not about abortion.
It’s not about socialism.
It’s not about homosexuals.
It’s not about women.
It’s not about gun control.

It’s about getting rich and protecting their fellow Democrat criminals.

Because Dr. King was right.

It’s all about the content of character, not the color of skin.

But did MLK even really believe that?

I don't know. Why don't you go dig him up and ask him?

A lot of truisms have been uttered by tragically flawed people over the years.

So True.
If you have to be perfect before you speak, nothing much would be said at all.

Melting Pot is now considered to be a racist term.

"True American Nationalism Is Inclusive"

This is utter pablum. It's intellectually meaningless, it flies in the face of logic, it's adopting the insipid language of the left and thus surrendering to it.

Yes, let's all be inclusive and...

I’m not as sold on King as the good man the media and the NAACP want us to see him as, but when he said things like that in public, it was very good.

I’m rather neutral on King, but I think he did some good things, and I think some of the criticisms of him are more personal than need be.

Good works are still good works no matter the revelation of the rest of our character.
