Washington, DC The American Firearms Coalition has just released an online poll of more than 20,000 gun owners conducted over the last 18 hours indicating that 65% of gun owners say they will not vote for President Trump if he signs Red Flag Gun Confiscation into law.

Does the author of this story have their fingers crossed??
Me think so. BIG, BIG story telling. If you believe this story I have a liberal who will vote for President Trump in 2020.
Because Bernie or Elizabeth will be so much better for them.
If thats what they do, I sure hope they can arms capable of defeating APCs and Armored SWAT units, because thats what the new communist government will come at them with...for starters anyway.
It will depend if the red flag laws adequately protect the rights of the accused and give proper due process.
The problem is, red flag laws are meant to speed up the confiscation part, you know for the good of the people.
I am unclear however, on how my rights and due process can be sped up to match.
WOW, thats smart. What are they going to do, stay home and let a dem who will confiscate their guns get elected?
The only honest RF law should result in institution of the individual involved and that kind of action takes lots of due process.
I was leery of this until I read judge Naps article on the 2A. You know he is not known to support Trump but he said the RF law would be judged totally unconstitutional, good column in Wash Times.
Red Flag laws are NOT the hill on which DJT wants to die. But, die he will, if he pushes this legislative tripe.
Without this one.. we are dead as a Republic. Trump chose this. Red flag rules mean imprisonment and confiscation en masse. He made it clear that he supports the dems takeover of America regardless of we the people.
I do not trust legislators to put sufficient safeguards against misuse into these proposed laws, nor do I trust prosecutors to actually penalize those guilty of misuse. Also, the safeguards will be eroded each time the laws fail to stop some whacko from shooting up a mall or school. Even if the laws start out seeming benign, they still represent a grave threat.
I am of the opinion that if a person is to dangerous to own guns then they are too dangerous to be walking around and should be institutionalized.
The elites need to ‘put up or shut up’ because if they are not willing to take a man’s freedom away then the man in question is really no danger.
Here is a reality check for you on that.
Once the federal red flag law(s) are passed and signed, they will never be repealed - only expanded and added to. These laws make a mockery of due process. They are de facto confiscation laws.
If Trump is re-elected he will be President for 4 more years. Don't deceive yourself into thinking that his presence in the WH is going to deter the leftists in state and local governments from taking full advantage of these laws and going after us.
In 2024 we will get a Dem for President. I guarantee it. And then it is going to get very, very ugly. They will declare war on us with those laws. And, the laws will be expanded upon until the whole country looks like NY and CA - at best.
By getting these red flag laws while Trump is in office the Dems will have a huge head start in their gun confiscation game plan, whether they get the WH in 2020 or 2024.
Because the turncoat Republicans in both houses of congress are going to help get these laws passed, in 2020 the Dems will expand their margin in the house and retake the senate. We haven't begun to see violence like what is coming. If....if....Trump AND the congressional Republicans stand firm against this, he will be re-elected and the GOP will hold the senate and pick off a few seats in the house. I don't believe in unicorns or fairies, nor do I believe the traitorous Republicans will do the right thing.
The point of all my ranting is simple. Shit's gonna hit the fan either way. Passing this will make it happen sooner and we will be more hampered in defending ourselves.
Red flag laws are America's stealth version of the USSR filling mental hospitals with political dissidents.
I call BS.
>>No, theyll stay home.<<
While they can, the Socialists will take it from them and put a needy immigrant family in it.
Thanks for the correction, but he still did approve of it which sucks.
Trump is not idotic enough to commit political suicide by signing a national “red flag law”.
No sale for me”
needed to be repeated.
Anything that is passed will just be a jumping off point to the next thing they will want passed on their journey towards total confiscation.
It puts confiscation in the hands of your minor children, your next door neighbor, the public in general, and any officer you happen to encounter.
What do you mean what is he supposed to say? How about FACTS!?
The shooter was a law abiding citizen as an adult with no criminal record and is afforded all rights as a law abiding citizen; one of which is the ability to purchase and own a firearm. Reports state that when he was a minor he showed troubling signs of either immature or abnormal mental health behaviors.
Should his family, police or community intervened? Quite possibly. However good luck on any of the above having any impact. Laws quite sometime ago have prevented those suffering from mental illness being committed. Those same laws shut down mental health institutions country wide. Today one must inflict harm to themselves or another to be committed. Unfortunately the results of committing harm to another is too late as is evidenced here.
So how do we therefore refuse someone a law abiding citizen a constitutional right? Further to that how to we ban the very tool we are allowed to purchase to utilize that same constitutional right?
In 2018, 387 people died due to mass shootings. In 2017 from FBI statistics (no numbers for 2018 yet) the total deaths from guns was 10,982. Of these numbers 7,032 was from a handgun (HANDGUNS), 403 a rifle, 264 a shotgun and 3,000+ not stated. Rifles arent the boogey men we were led to believe. 4,000+ were murdered with any other weapon other than a gun.
In 2017 10,874 died due to drunk driving almost the same exact number as those from gun violence. Why are these deaths any less violent or unimportant? The person using a gun makes the conscious decision to perform the act. Is it because the person that is drunk doesnt intend to hurt or kill anyone? Does the person driving not know he/she could kill someone due to their decision? Arent there already laws that cover both crimes? So which is it? Is it the tool that committed the act (a car/a gun)? Why arent there calls for both to be banned? Or is it the decision and choice by the person to commit the act? I mean a gun cant fire itself no more than can a car drive itself. Yet even with laws both kill people.
Mental health is a shaky topic when discussing the stripping of anothers rights. Who is the arbiter of a mental health condition? That decision would strip the rights of another. What classification of mental health is the decision point for stripping someone of a constitutional right? Someone that has gone through counseling for trouble in their life? During childhood? Suicidal thoughts at one time? What if someone has fully recovered from suicidal thoughts? A cutter? It isnt as black and white as some would lead you to believe. A very slippery slope wouldnt you say?
It truly would not have mattered if it were an AR, a semi auto shotgun or a semi auto pistol. According to FBI statistics more deaths are caused by handguns than rifles and by a lot. The bottom line is one must be able to point, aim and effectively shoot in order to hit a target or in this tragic case a human being. He could have had a pistol and inflicted the same amount of death at the same rate of fire.
The terms AR, AK, are played by the media to drive fear, sensationalism and with some an agenda. There are literally millions of firearms owned by millions within this country so why arent there millions of deaths? Because the vast majority who own guns are law abiding citizens practicing their constitutional right. Criminals will be criminals and will always find a way to kill no matter the tool and even if illegal will break the law.
Mass shootings are tragic, disgusting and a sad event everyone in the community mourns over. However they make up a little over 1% of murders annually. Rifles make up roughly 5%. The media driven term assault rifle isnt the problem. Criminals, broken families, mental illness and a disregard for human life is the problem.
The President can make a simple argument. It is his CHOICE how he proceeds
