Massive Stampede In Times Square After Active Shooter Fears

This video is a sign of the scary times we live in. While there was no shooter at Times Square, the scare of one created a massive stampede.
People literally ran out of their shoes, people and children fell and were stepped on, yet thankfully there were only light injuries from this event which could have ended much, much worse.
In general, the Western world is a scarier place than it used to be with terror attacks happening every once in a while. Specifically, Americans are more aware of potential shootings in their midst as well, whether by Muslim terrorists, right-wing radicals and left-wing radicals. Just this week America experienced two deadly shooting attacks, one in El Paso by a right-winger and one in Daytona by a left-winger.
The fear of shooting attacks is real. And this episode in Times Square is the powerful evidence of this new reality.
No, there was no shooter, but the sound of something that sounded like shooting, caused the massive stampede.
At the height of the tourist season as well. In NYC, there are many sounds that mimic shootings - mostly cars, motorcycles backfiring, jackhammers starting up, etc. I wish tourists would find other places to linger instead of that ridiculous place!
In parts of the middle of the rural Midwest, people hear fire all the time. With real and sensible Americans of American culture doing the firing, it doesn’t bother anyone.

No, it’s a simple tactical and strategic maneuver we can use to stampede leftist lemmings over the cliff in NYC. Duh!

Americans went from “it can’t happen here” on 9/10/01 to “IT’S HAPPENING HERE! PANIC!”
It can happen and it can happen anywhere anytime, and you had better plan what you’ll do if and when it does, and be ready. This is what life in Israel has taught me. Kindergarten teachers and pool lifeguards carry heat. People train in martial arts, and improvise if they have to with anything that will serve as a weapon; shopping carts, cans of oven cleaner, whatever, or just get out of the way and let those better equipped handle it, shelter a child with your body if you can’t do anything else. But nobody panics.
Very curious. It sounds vaguely reminiscent of other "mass shooter" events that turned out not to be.

I am so ashamed of these people. Such cowards. Why are they not ashamed of themselves? What low, low people. Did any of them turn to face the threat? Did any stop to pick up the people they knocked over?

If people were more familiar with guns, they likely would not mistake that for gunfire.
It is NYC; basic human decency is a rare thing there.
It is one of the first things that strikes people visiting from Real America.

We live in the middle of NOWHERE. Our Cow Town has 283 souls - and that’s including the cows!
If the wind is blowing in the right direction, we can hear the Sportsman’s Club in a teeny-tiny town (Unincorporated) a good 10 miles away.
“Pa! Looks like the Sportsman’s Club is having a free for all! Grab yer gun and let’s make a day of it!”
That’s the sound of FREEDOM, Baby! :)
Same with my rural town, in California. From my back porch, I often hear dove and quail hunters firing their shotguns.
