Donald Trump is facing fresh demands for gun control in the wake of the Dayton and El Paso shootings as the New York Post published a full front-page appeal to 'Ban Weapons of War' today. The paper's editorial board called for a ban on assault weapons after 29 people were killed in the two attacks in Ohio and Texas with guns that appeared to have been purchased legally. 'It does not have to be this way. It should not have to be this way. Mr. President, do something - help America live without fear,' the Post demanded.

You can bet part of the “solution” will entail rounding up white males. Which is going to be a fairly “sticky wicket”, seems to me.

They always say that only the military and the police should have “weapons of war.” To that I always ask: Against whom are the police planning to wage war? That usually results in a deer-in-the-headlight look from them.

The 2nd Amendment doesn’t exist so that citizens can hunt or go to shooting ranges. It exists so that we can oppose and defeat tyranny, its imposition attempted from the outside or from the inside. Citizens deserve to keep and bear the most powerful weapons available.
To them, any thing that fires a projectile.

Weapons of war are exactly what our founders wanted us to have to protect ourselves from a potentially tyrannical government. Weapons of war were the actual point of the Second Amendment. Our Revolution would have gone nowhere if the regular citizens/Minutemen/militia men were not already armed, and our Founders of course knew that. An unarmed populace is a controlled populace.
That bears repeating.
So how many “so-called” assault weapons are already purchased, owned, reside in the hands of the American people?
The ban in the 1990s just banned new purchases and imports.
Since that was lifted, millions have been sold.
Sounds like the New Yorkers at the Post just don’t want a sales ban, but a confiscation.
That will start a civil war.
Take Guns and these nut jobs will be ramming cars into bars. The Ohio shooter was suspended in high school for putting out a KILL list and RAPE list of people he wanted to hurt. He was a nut job many years ago.
Silly people. Would it matter if the shooter had 6 clips in his pocket instead of a drum magazine?
Understand that when the MSM / liberals ref to weapons of war, they mean:
AK’s and AR’s
internal magazine rifles
Bolt action rifles
lever action rifles
pump action
breach / break action
as well as .... revolvers, pistols, and anything that goes bang.
Because every single one of those actions rifles and pistols have been used in war.
Never forget that the Left LOVES guns. They just dont want YOU to have one.

Sure NY Post, when Hollywood actors and their award shows are no longer protected by the above, banning guns that you don't like citizens having may be worth considering.
As long as the Left wields propaganda in ways that would make Gobbels and Madame Mao proud we need weapons if war.
