following the landslide victory in the Republican primary by conservative State Sen. Dan Bishop, few are making any big bets on Democrats taking the Charlotte-based 9th District in the special election Sept. 10.
Bishop is a solid supporter of President Trump and clearly cut from the swashbuckling mold of many of the conservatives elected to House in the Republican sweeps of 2010 and '14.
In surprise results, he rolled up 48 percent of the vote over eight opponents.
"Dan Bishop powered his way through the 'redo' Republican primary last night, easily defeating all comers," political analyst Marc Rotterman told Newsmax on Wednesday morning. "His campaign was disciplined and well managed."
Rotterman predicted the special election between Bishop and McCready "will be one most watched, expensive, and consequential races in 2019. It is also a test for President Trump's coattails in North Carolina."

State Sen. Dan Bishop describes himself as a "pro-life, pro-gun, pro-wall" conservative and says McCready would fall in line with Democrats in Congress such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who Bishop calls radical socialists. Bishop says his record in the state legislature includes helping pass a constitutional amendment requiring voter ID in 2018, lowering income taxes, and opposing sanctuary cities. Ballotpedia
Glad to hear a strong conservative won the primary.
As residents in NC-9, the wife and I will be voting for Bishop.
Folks, please go out and vote.

Me too. It’s likely a turnout election this time around being on Sept 10. I’ve seen an uptick in Bishop mailers and TV ads in the last couple of weeks.

Outs his opponent----McCready----as a fellow traveler who would kiss major butt....
He'd fall in line with radical socialist lefties Green-AOC, the despised Ilhan Omar, and Speaker Pelosi.
Go Dan !
I voted against Dan McReady the first time and I will make a point of showing up to vote against Dan McReady this time.
Bishop is a good candidate from everything I see so Im glad to support him.
Bishop’s opponent is McCready, who is described as a decorated x-marine. Its hard to believe how McCready can be a democRAT, along with Buttigieg and other misfits, one would think some brainwashing is going on in the military.
Maybe the grooming happened before the enlistment. Some one encouraged them to join the military to make them look less radical to the electorate.
The Kenyan from Indonesia fundamentally transformed the military.
All the warriors were run out in favor of those who saluted the transgenderizing of the military.
9th District voters need to remember that if they elect McCready, they are adding to the radical/progressive leaning House of Representatives. People tend to think they are just voting against the candidate they don’t want, but in this case they are consolidating and helping to dig in a more leftist House of Representatives. McCready will be forced to vote with the strongest voices if the Dems continue to hold the house, no matter whether he is moderate or not.
Excellent point.
I hope he’ll win...will the Dems steal votes? It wouldn’t surprise me...
Great!
