Exclusive — Kevin McCarthy Details GOP Plan to Retake House Majority: 31 Democrats Sit in...

FULL TITLE: Exclusive — Kevin McCarthy Details GOP Plan to Retake House Majority: 31 Democrats Sit in Districts Donald Trump Won

Republicans only need to net win back 20 seats from Democrats to retake their majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy broke down the GOP plan to do just that in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News that aired Saturday morning. The one-hour-long in-studio exclusive interview which aired on Breitbart News Saturday and will air again on Breitbart News Sunday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel, is the first and most comprehensive the House’s leading Republican has given detailing such plans by the GOP.

In addition to the political focus in this interview, McCarthy also discussed immigration policy and tech policy with Breitbart News. McCarthy laid out the numbers that Republicans need to hit to win back their majority in 2020 alongside President Donald Trump’s efforts to win re-election.

“There are 31 seats that Democrats sit in today that President Trump carried,” McCarthy said. “Of those 31, 13 of them President Trump carried by more than six points. So, here you have the socialist wing of the party trying to take them further left, when the only way they have the majority is actually winning in Republican areas—areas that would be swing districts.”

Currently, Republicans hold 198 seats in the House. A majority in the House is 218 seats. So, if Republicans take back those 13 seats from Democrats in districts that Trump won by more than six percent, and seven more from the remaining 18 districts that Democrats represent that Trump won—while holding what they currently have—or find some other way to net gain 20 seats, they can retake the majority in 2020.

Ohh goody, perhaps they can once again reach the level awesomeness they displayed under Trumps first two years. Either that or they just miss “working” 30 days a year with unlimited access to the free taxpayer money fountain

As long as the GOP establishment keeps dissing Trump, while kissing Democrat butt, taking payments from their Mexican drug cartel, Red Chinese, and/or Billionaire pedophile handlers, it won’t happen.

If the backstabbing Repukes retake the House I have little hope for anything more than a repeat of the last time they “controlled” the lower chamber. They will screw it up like they always do but I suppose its better than having the Dems run the place. But not by much.

Square this away with all of the retirements in the GOP and I think we have an uphill battle to retake the House.

Several reliable Red districts in 2018 were very close....too close.

If he really has a plan, and it is good, why on earth would the idiot proclaim it to the world so the democrats would know where to try to start and defeat it?

Newt did it, they didn't even think he could. My guess is this is to get in their OODA loop and get them to spend money where they can't afford to do so. They may not have the funds, we will see, although "LS" in a recent post noted how it is not good for the House in 2020.

We can retake the House if Americans living in those districts, in the shadows on their views because of extreme leftism, would get out and at least vote!

Does that take in to account all the recent retirement announcements?

Trump is supposed to be able to raise $2 billion for the election. He should direct some of that money to taking back the House - and getting loyal Congressmen elected. No RINOs!

Why not?

The DNC has money problems. They spend more than they take in (typical of Democrats).

The RNC has $34.7 million in the bank and no debt.

Let that sink in.

My thoughts as well.

But don’t we expect some DemocRAT retirements as well? Possibly there will be but I have heard nothing yet. Fingers crossed hoping the retirement risk will be a minimum come Election Day.

If not, I agree that your uphill battle characterization is accurate, particularly given the anticipated level of voter fraud that will be the DemocRAT’s secret weapon.

What was described in the intro wasn’t a plan, it was just math and stats. Nothing the Democrats didn’t already know.

Democrat Rep. Collin Peterson represents a House district in western Minnesota that Trump won by an astonishing 30 points in 2016. Many of these House districts are filled with voters who voted for Trump but absolutely distrust the GOP leadership in Congress.

If like-minded Trump supporters run for office it will be an easy Win.

If Republicans retake the house it won’t be because of Kevin McCarthy. I can assure you he is hard at work behind the scenes to deter conservative true-believers while helping to boost sycophant, ladder-climbing, country club, yes-men candidates like himself.

The GOP could very well take the House back, but if they do it will be in spite of Kevin’s efforts.
