Many in the media are gushing over learning how to perform abortions – on fruit.
Just this year, the trend has garnered coverage by outlets including Glamour magazine, the Cut, and, most recently, Vice. On July 24, Vice published the latest piece with the headline simply stating, “I Learned How to Do an Abortion on a Papaya.”
For the report, writer Marie Solis attended an abortion workshop hosted by New York City-based abortion provider Zoey Thill – at the offices of a Brooklyn book-publishing house, Verso Books. While 38-weeks pregnant, Thill used a papaya to represent a woman at 10 weeks of pregnancy.
“The narrow part of the papaya, where the stem would be, is like the cervix,” Solis remembered Thill teaching. “The broader portion of the papaya is like the upper area of the uterus known as the fundus—and it's that part we would want to avoid puncturing with our tools when, in just a few minutes, we would practice performing an aspiration abortion.”
The workshop gave insight into a sickening high that abortion providers – and their trainees – appear to enjoy when it comes to abortion.
While demonstrating a first-trimester abortion, Thill “inserted a finger into the ‘cervix,’ then pantomimed inserting the speculum; she pretended to apply the local anesthetic and then began inserting the metal tapered rods on the table one-by-one to dilate the opening,” Solis continued.
Then, Thill “placed a plastic tube called a cannula inside and attached it to a manual vacuum aspirator, a plastic, syringe-like device, sucking out the inner contents of the papaya: what, for our purposes, was the pregnancy.”
Or, rather, the baby.
“This is a really f**king good one,” Thill exclaimed.
When it was Solis’ turn, she “felt slightly nervous.” That quickly changed when she became “surprised and pleased to see that my amateur skills could produce the same result.”
She wasn’t alone. “Next to me, others were doing the same, rejoicing with every successful extraction. 'Yes!' they exclaimed each time,” Solis remembered.
Thill concluded, “It’s even more satisfying when it’s a real abortion.”
Or is it? Imagine the uproar if media delighted in a workshop training on “how to administer the death penalty” with fruit. Even then, there’s a difference. Those facing the death penalty have been found guilty; the unborn have not.
But whether born or unborn, guilty or innocent, a human life – a unique and unrepeatable person – is inherently sacred in that, while other humans can end it, they can never resurrect it.
According to Solis, Thill had her reasons for teaching the workshop. She hoped it would be “empowering those who might one day have an abortion” as well as “educating advocates—as well as doctors—about how shifting our rhetoric around the procedure might strengthen arguments for people’s right to access it.”
She also “wondered if participants might capture some of the buoyant energy they felt while extracting seeds from fruits and use it to undo some of the seriousness and reverence we’ve placed around the procedure.”
But reverence and seriousness shroud abortion for a reason: It’s the ending of a human life. To celebrate it is to not only mock the pro-life movement but also make light of the women who regret their abortions.
Solis stressed that “workshops like the one Thill hosted are nothing new.” They’re also nothing new for the media to cover – not even for Vice.
Five years ago, Vice published a story by Amanda Sperber who watched a papaya “abortion” with Reproductive Health Access Project (RHAP) as part of a “feminist camp.” Glamour contributor Meghan Racklin also attended an RHAP training she wrote about in January.
“I insert a thin metal instrument into the top of my papaya to create an opening before inserting a small suction device called an aspirator,” Racklin wrote. “There’s a slight slurping sound as the papaya seeds are sucked into the aspirator’s main chamber. Slurp. Slurp. Slurp. And then it’s done.”
And, in July, the Cut published a book excerpt by Jennifer Block about papaya abortion with the headline, “Not Your Grandmother’s Illegal Abortion.” Block remembers shouting, “It’s working!” while performing her “abortion.”
Afterwards, her anonymous teacher tried to recruit her.
“I would feel comfortable with you doing an MVA [manual vacuum aspiration] on me,” the teacher told Block. “You could totally do this.”
But “could” and “should” are two very different things.
The thrill the body feels when it embraces damnation for eternity. The sin within is the seed of death, it achieves its goal.
Not within a light year of the thrill the soul receives upon accepting Gods propitiation for your sin when you accept the Messiahs death to kill that sin by taking Jesus as your LORD.

When she says on me she doesn't really mean me rather the unborn baby. The comfort level of the unborn baby would be less so.
Of course, the entire purpose of these “workshops” is to dehumanize people (not just the babies).
What if they ran the same workshop on living subjects? Starting with an ultrasound of the baby, then an explanation of the neurological development at that stage of pregnancy, pointing out the fact that by five weeks after conception, all components of the nervous system are present and, ergo, functioning? How about including a bit of an explanation of the mechanism of anesthetics, including that the baby does not receive any of a local administered to the mother, and that only a small percentage of a general would reach the baby, meaning that it is aware and feels its body being crushed, ripped apart, chemically burned, etc.? And then commit the abortion while the workshop participants watch and follow up with showing them the corpse afterwards?
The abortion industry has always depended on lies and misinformation to promote its “services.” It looks like they are stepping up their propaganda campaign as more of the population is aware of what abortion actually is. Ironically, the proportion of the population that is susceptible to their lies is shrinking, as those particular behavior genes are being removed from the population.

what ‘sins’ have the aborted children committed, so that they may feel the ‘thrill’ of God’s propitiation, the same God who could have, but did not, prevent the abortion in the first place had it been such an outrage to him...
People who love abortion are sick. It is evil and perverted to worship abortion and killing babies. It is unnatural and violates human nature.
Talk to a REAL doctor. They can tell you horror stories about young girls who come to them after being butchered by an abortionist - who doesn’t care about a patient, only about a paycheck. They come to hospitals torn up inside, and with baby body parts still inside. Often they can save the girl’s life, but not her fertility.
These aren’t women. They are the spawn of Satan. Sick cu**ts.

This kind of glee doesn’t represent, yet, where most of America is.
Perhaps the revolution will occur when most of America finally resolves not to bow before any throne but God’s, rejecting the rest of these more and more obviously hideous thrones.
And sometimes some of those hideous thrones have been lurking in Christendom — even, God help us, “conservative” Christendom, in a form of religion that is supercilious and loveless. Almost as on cue, I had a wrangle just the other day with one such “Christian” whom I eventually bid depart from me.
Cleansing that from Christendom is even more fundamentally of priority than a political victory over the cruel abortion mongers in secular land. This is because the light from Christendom needs to be clear, not muddy.

Prior to carefully reading the Bible and then asking Christ into my life, I probably would have agreed with your post. But God had to give us free will for the love he wants us to possess to be real. Along with free will comes to freedom to sin, iow, disobey God. As Adam did. Which passed on sin to all of mankind, prior even to our birth. But Christ died as a sacrifice for our sins and only asked for you to accept Christ as your savior and repent (turn) from sin (which does not mean you stop sinning. You just have a heart not to sin and do your best not to).
All sin is an outrage to God. Is abortion the only one you want him to stop? What would be the qualifying barrier when God should step in? And who makes up the list? You? Me?
Well God already did. And he included all sin. And it all leads to the death. But he gave us Christ as the sacrifice to cleanse our hands from that sin and prevent us from spending eternity separated from God. And again, he only asked us to accept this sacrifice. And eventually you will find the world you wish you were living in here on earth.
Or not.
