Trump says Ratcliffe is no longer his pick for director of national intelligence
CNN ^ | 8/2/2019 | Allie Malloy and Kaitlan Collins

President Donald Trump says Rep. John Ratcliffe will no longer be nominated as director of national intelligence to replace Dan Coats. "Our great Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe is being treated very unfairly by the LameStream Media," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Rather than going through months of slander and libel, I explained to John how miserable it would be for him and his family to deal with these people John has therefore decided to stay in Congress where he has done such an outstanding job representing the people of Texas, and our Country. I will be announcing my nomination for DNI shortly." Trump privately voiced concern in recent days about Ratcliffe's ability to be confirmed as the next director of national intelligence, according to two people who spoke with him. Trump had been assured by allies before selecting Ratcliffe that he would be an easy pick, and so the president was surprised when Ratcliffe started facing issues from senators who had their own concerns.

Oh, damn.

And THAT was a GREAT choice.

Now some worthless deep-stage stooge will get in there, and this nomination won’t be any different than the gigantic FAIL Trump achieved when he put Wray in charge of the F.B.I..

Disappointed in the results, and disappointed in our President for giving up so easily.

I wonder if that’s the thought process instead.

It's in one of my monthly text files, where I keep stuff that's going on that month, bills, article notes, things of interest, etc.

That month, NeverTrumpers were self-immolating in spastic rage over the ascendancy of soon-to-be President Trump, and it was interesting to me to see some VERY long-time freepers not realize what Trump actually is.

"He is become Mirth, Destroyer of Democrat Media"

You've repented your temprary lack of faith, and have become one with the Free Republic Trump Army.

We know that. I can see how hard it was to put one's faith in The Salesman.

Agree!
But hasn’t Ben Shapiro come around?

Anyway I welcome back all who come into the fold!

In the very beginning I was highly skeptical of Trump. I was sort of for Cruz. However I quickly realized he didn’t have the temperament or the following to win. I absolutely did not want Hellary to win. I would campaign & vote for a pile of sand before her. She was my most definitive example that voting has two components to give someone power & deny someone power. Its often a mixture of the two. In 2016 denying her power was first and foremost what was important. Over the campaign I viewed Trump with growing appreciation, philosophically I thought he’d govern like a typical New York Republican. - say a Giuliani or D’Amato administration that never was. Something that every so often I would grind my teeth over but it wasn’t Hellary.
Now I think he is superior to Reagan!

SSCI is where the DS epicenter lurks. If it gets a pro-Trump guy, the DS starts decaying.

Mark Warner. That guy is pure scum.

You know, what I’d really like to see is DJT abolish the office and transfer the duties to some other trusted subordinate — one not subject to confirmation.

As I posted earlier, I’d rather see Ratcliffe where he is. We need all the real conservatives we can get in Congress. He will continue to do yeoman work alongside Jordan, Meadows, Collins, Gaetz, Biggs, others.

To: Scott from the Left Coast

“However it occurs, most of Congress and most of the Senate got there by winning elections.”

No demonrat has won an election without fraud since FDR.

“The people that vote put them there. And are keeping them there for, in most cases, decades.”

Stuffed ballot boxes, dead people voting in alphabetical order, mentally incompetent people bussed from polling place to polling place, bribed with snacks and cigarettes...and don’t forget people bribed with “walk-around money” in the basements of black churches, union members intimidated and coerced into voting evil...

It is accurate only in the most technical sense that “the people that vote” keep the forces of evil in office.

If only one vote were counted for each eligible voter, the demonrats would only win the occasional election in the very worst slums—and on college campi.

“No one is getting thrown out by the voters”

Given the massive election fraud committed by the forces of evil, how do you know that?

“so that “quarter” of yours is doing yeoman’s work.”

Why the danger quotes? A number equal to about half the eligible voters is recorded as having voted. Half that number is recorded as having voted for the forces of evil.

Half of a half is still a quarter, isn’t it? Even in the “new math?”

“They’re beating everyone else put together, that’s blatantly obvious.”

Over on the left coast they seem to be, but they do not at present have the White House or the Senate. There are many governorships and state legislatures that they do not command.

Santa Anna’s army is flying the black flag and playing the song “Deguello,” but we are not dead yet.

That is the silver lining to all this, I admit.

I am proud to say that the day trump gave his speech on the escalator i listened to it and told folks that he was going to beat every other repub and that he would be elected. He talked about everything that normal Americans care about that has been neglected for 50 years.

It was actually Will Hurd that killed this. Texas could not afford to lose another republican congressman.

I still have several hundred of the deleted articles from the 1997-1999 time period.

The DNI was supposed to be a structure that coordinated budgets & communications between the 17 members of the IC. Over time it absorbed so many USG IC positions it is essentially an 18th member of the IC. It is a “Ministry of Administrative Affairs” for the IC! Chock full of Sir Humphrey Applebys!

Doing what work? Making speeches? The GOP is in the minority and the progressive corportists comfortably control the GOP caucus. Heck, even the “Freedom Caucus” voted for Paul Ryan. Ratcliffe isn’t going to change that. If POTUS wanted him at DNI that is good enough for me.

Ratcliffe’s district is rated R+28. One of the very most Republican districts in the entire country.

I originally thought it was an outrageous publicity stunt for one of his TV shows. I never liked any of his shows, so didn’t treat him seriously.
