Robots, CNN wants you to know, are likely sold and created in the color white because humans are prejudiced against black people, thus the creators of this artificial intelligence infuse their personal racism into choosing the color of said robots.
"Have you ever noticed the popularity of white robots? The reason for these shades of technological white may be racism, according to new research," CNN tweeted.

"Robots And Racism," a study conducted by the Human Interface Technology Laboratory in New Zealand (HIT Lab NZ) and published by the country's University of Canterbury, suggests people perceive physically human-like robots to have a race and therefore apply racial stereotypes to white and black robots.
These colors have been found to trigger social cues that determine how humans react to and behave toward other people and also, apparently, robots.
"The bias against black robots is a result of bias against African-Americans," lead researcher Christoph Bartneck explained to The Next Web. He told CNN, "It is amazing to see how people who had no prior interaction with robots show racial bias towards them."
The responses on Twitter were pretty comical and also insightful into how ludicrous the claims were.

Yes, everything is racism. The word has lost most of its meaning as it is through overuse and misuse. Your effort to completely eradicate its value is interesting, especially for a bunch that loves to feign wokeness.— Alex Lekas (@TheAlexLekas) August 1, 2019
I’m still not over that someone at cnn delved into “robot racism” pic.twitter.com/Df8hzttkt3— Matt Vespa (@mVespa1) August 1, 2019

This is the kind of thing I would expect to see as a parody article if someone was making fun of “woke culture”.
But nope, it’s real and it’s on CNN https://t.co/TVZ3Rpchxi— Harry Khachatrian (@Harry1T6) August 1, 2019
One Twitter user commented that if the robots were black, then CNN would run an article explaining how they're not white to indicate slavery. Whatever the case, CNN continues to be a joke.

Oh, sure. I can totally see it. Makes a lot of sense.
Meanwhile, there are likely some Democrats watching CNN that just made this their new “cause”.
If they were mainly dark they’d say that was racism.
That ought to drive away another 100,000 viewers.
We just better hope that an artificial intelligence entity never watches CNN.
If they do they will conclude humans are blithering idiots and need to be eradicated!
Black robots would be called slave robots by whites according to CNN.
What’s nice (OK, the only thing nice) about CNN is the fact that they prove N times each day (where N is a large number) that even two-digit IQ folks can earn livings on cable tv.
And back when racism was much stronger, in the 50s and 60s, robots were routinely pictured in metallic black or grey.
I wonder if CNN breaks all their crazy talking heads, writers, editors, and employees out of the insane asylums or if they buy their way out.
CNN: Crazy Nitwit Network.

Is it so wrong to have a preference on the appearance of your sex robot?
You are so right. If the choice was mostly black bet the farm it would be called a desire to have black slaves.
'Robot' was first applied as a term for artificial automata in the 1920 play R.U.R. by the Czech writer, Karel Čapek. However, Josef Čapek was named by his brother Karel as the true inventor of the term robot. The word 'robot' itself was not new, having been in the Slavic language as robota (forced laborer), a term which classified those peasants obligated to compulsory service under the feudal system
Black robots would be double plus ungood.
I’ll be ordering the Coonman Northam model. I’m covered.
Exactly. Aren’t robots intended to be servants to mankind? What, they want their mechanical slaves dark? Now that is racist! White is a far better choice because people associate it with clean - hospitals, ORs, etc. Also, white would show leaks of hydraulic fluid better, or discoloration from internal overheating. So there are both perception based (innocent not racist) and good engineering reasons for them to be white. Also probably marketing - colors on a robot might clash with someone’s decor, whereas white is reasonably neutral or forgivable in that respect.

Well, that would certainly explain what happened to Skynet.
CNN is getting hammered in the replies. I read a lot of them and not a single one was supportive. In fact every single post was a slam.
How about the color of Data (gold) or Isaac (grey)? Would that be okay?
But...is this why there are so few black tinted toilets?
