Need a 'Blueprint to Remove Trump'? Look at What Puerto Ricans Did in Just 16 Days (TDS sufferer)
CityWatchLA ^ | 7/25/19 | Julia Conley

While many progressives were dismayed to learn on Thursday that Democratic leaders remain reticent to call for impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, some looked with admiration at the hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans who successfully forced their governor from office with days of non-violent protests.

Gov. Ricardo Rosselló's resignation Wednesday night followed nearly two weeks of historic, sustained demonstrations by Puerto Ricans angry over leaked messages showing the governor and his associates denigrating his constituents, as well as a corruption scandal.

Puerto Ricans have given "their fellow Americans the blueprint to remove Trump," wrote one progressive critic on social media.

Meanwhile, in the wake of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) reportedly dismissed Rep. Jerrold Nadler's (D-N.Y.) suggestion in a closed-door meeting that House committees begin drafting articles of impeachment against the president.

At the hearing, Mueller testified that Trump was "not exculpated" for obstruction of justice. His testimony confirmed that Trump ordered former White House Counsel Don McGahn to fire Mueller and told former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to order the Department of Justice to limit the special counsel's probe.

A number of observers noted after the hearing that those facts—along with Trump's alleged violation of the Constitution's emoluments clause, advocacy for violence against his political opponents, attacks on the free press, and other alleged misconduct—provided enough evidence for Democrats to draft articles of impeachment.

"In less than 16 days from the time the first news broke of his horrible and hateful comments, Puerto Rican Gov. Ricardo Rosselló is expected to resign after mass protests," tweeted Human Rights Campaign press secretary Charlotte Clymer. "I can't even recall all the horrible shit Trump has done in the last 16 days."

Another Liberal who doesn’t know the law and how it applies to people in office.

Man they have a bunch of dolts on the Left.

Either than or they congregate at the alter of Saul Alinsky, and are still dolts to boot.

That ‘blueprint’ would actually work better against “the Squad”. None of them belong in the U.S.

Or, they could try to do what they did to Truman. And get killed.

I’m thronging at WORK.

Unlike LIEberals:
- I go to WORK,
- PAY TAXES,
- PAY for my kid’s education,
- house my parents-in-law,
- managed my mother’s care during her decline
- got my ungrateful nephew into and through college (despite only 3 semesters of high school)
- got him halfway through law school
- nursed my wife through a major illness
- nursed my son through a major illness
- built a family home
- funded a farm in Africa for a Christian school for orphaned children

AND WORKED A JOB the entire time - except for the periods I was laid off.

And now I hear I’m “privileged” and “owe” non citizens health coverage, sanctuary, etc. I’m a “racist” because I don’t want the American culture destroyed by an unrestrained influx of people who are preferred by those who hate America and me.

No. Heck no, and F*** NO.

Not really sorry for the rant, but I’m stuck at the airport, and I believe that I am not alone in my sentiments.

Julia, honey, if you give that a try, you will soon discover some uncomfortable facts:

First, the polls are skewed to the left and no way represent the actual emotional investment of even Dems, let alone sane likely voters, in impeachment;

Second, you could not find a critical mass for effective demonstrations outside the blue regions of the country on the coasts and perhaps Chicago and Austin (recall the blue and red map);

Third, your biggest contributors live in those blue enclaves and would in no way appreciate your fouling their nests;

Fourth, small businesses finally getting their feet back on the ground would not appreciate broken windows and blocked doorways to their businesses;

Fifth, you have already alienated cops which may be slow to protect you during your rampages;

Sixth, a sizeable portion of urban denizens will be happy to join with you in looting urban areas and letting your movement take the blame;

Seventh, the United States isn’t Puerto Rico still suffering from a disaster and a lot of U.S. citizens just want to get along in life and enjoy the dividends of economic growth; and

Eighth, there are more guns in America than citizens so if you don’t use them, some people have more than one per person.

You can engage in wishful thinking but I would think long and hard before trying to put it into play.

The article’s author refers to “sustained demonstrations” yet doesn’t seem to recall the numerous protests/riots Leftists engaged in. They could rise up in revolution and still would not come even close to removing President Trump from office.

The stupidity in this writer is strong. Apparently she doesn’t have enough brains to understand that the people of PR had factual justification of wrong-doing by their governor to justify removing him. The same cannot be said for Trump. The only thing the Left, like this writer, can do is make up “facts”.

The TurDS sufferer forgets that they universally agreed that it was RACIST to say anything about the leadership of Puerto Rico being corrupt AF. It was “only Trump’s fault” that the people there did not have food or water.

Trump is not a Democrat, and so is not guilty of the kind of inbred corruption so prevalent in Democrat cities in this country. We are witnessing the beginning of the great “throwing off of the yoke” of corrupt elitist rule. This event in Puerto Rico is very encouraging. It shows that the ridiculously corrupt Democrat leaderships that are such a burden to the people of this country can be eliminated. Bravo!

These same Stalinist Democrats will tell you that Donald Trump has to be forcibly removed from office or else he will be popularly re-elected.

They cannot win at the polls. This is against free elections.

I agree with your take on what the people of Puerto Rico are doing. More power to them.

Nope, Trump hasn’t committed the crimes the Left in the U. S. are getting a pass for.

except there would be even larger crowds of PRO-Trump counter protestors

the PR who left probably used the excuse to take his embezzlements to some country with no extradition
