Some background for folks who might be unaware of Harry's (now "deleted") past SJW wokeness:
"Harry's (razor brand) has deleted the propaganda ad it posted on International Men's Day in aftermath of Gillette backlash [SocJus]In 2017, on International Men's Day, Harry's posted an ad on Twitter. Unfortunately (or should I say fortunately), I haven't watched it myself, but people who did described it as a 30-seconds version of the Gillette/P&G ad. It was up as late as yesterday.
Today is International Mens Day. Believe it or not, thats a thing.
Now more than ever, being a man demands introspection, humility, and optimism. To get to a better tomorrow, we need to take a look at today, and at the misguided stereotypes that got us here in the first place source.
Yes, we definitely need to be lecture on what it means 'being a man' by money-grubbing corporations. Thank you so much. It proceeded to say the following to the statement that people should not be hurt by words:
Men have feelings. They can be hurt. No one needs to be ridiculed for being human.
But apparently, Harry's got the message, because now it has been deleted. Some people have speculated that Gillette/P&G was fully aware of the backlash that it would get, and that they consciously chose it. This would seem to argue against it, because Harry's is apparently seeking to capitalize on it, as Dollar Shave Club did.
However, there are still some problems with Harry's that should be mentioned. For one, it is still big on corporate virtue-signaling, and it has pledged to donate some of its profits to among others the organization 'Mermaids', which is a truly horrendous transgendered 'charity' targeting children. You have to read it to believe it. Harry's also has a page dedicated to a 'Social Mission', which echoes a lot of the same crap as Gillette.
Society puts lots of pressure on guys to act a certain way. Outdated stereotypes can be harmful, not just to guys but to communities, and we are committed to working with organisations to evolve the conversation on what it means to be a man today and, in doing so, hope to have a positive impact on the lives of men.
The Representation Project inspires individuals and communities to challenge and overcome limiting stereotypes. As an Impact Partner, Harrys helps support an Annual Youth Summit that brings together 100 14-to-21-year-olds to expand the narrative around traditional gender roles.
A CALL TO MEN works to promote a healthy and respectful manhood and shift attitudes and behaviors that devalue marginalised groups. Our donation will be used to digitize their training program in schools so that hundreds of additional educators can use it at a fraction of the typical cost.
It has also pulled its advertising from a Star Wars show apparently called Rebel Force Radio due to complaints by entitled SJWs on Twitter. It's extremely strange: it seems to have disappeared from Twitter, and both the SJWs and this show used the hashtag #Forceouthate
Just to be clear: I'm not telling anyone what to buy or what not to buy. I'm just giving you the information (speaking of which, here is a list of all Proctor and Gamble brands), so you can make an informed choice, no judgment."
I use the sensitive skin disposable razors from Wally. They give me a close, comfortable shave.
Gillette, Harry’s, etc. can go jump in the lake.
This gal still has some Gillette blades left.
But, when they run out, I’m going to have to find another blade to shave my legs with.
Me too ... I don’t like the 100,000 blades on a razor concept but I’m living with it in protest.
We used to buy Fusion and Venus in our family - never again.
You may be buying Walmart razors but the still may have been made by Gillette.
Edgewell Personal Care (EPC) owns Schick and Edge shaving gell. They bought Harry’s about a month ago. EPC has lost about 75% of its value in the last 5 years since they split from Energizer Battery.
They are trying to create a new Personal Care brand broad product line.
Just goes to show how deplorable White Men really are.
It takes a great effort to find a blade NOT made by Gillette -- no matter what the brand.
The people have the power but do the have the will to bring those who are ruining this country down
Indeed. Your right.
No blades?....I have found many items in Walmart stores that have been “reduced in quantity” by shoplifters that steal blades or whatever items from the packaging. I bring it to their attention and get a shrug or eye-roll. I don’t condemn the store because the dishonest customers should be blamed.
That would be the Gillette equivalent...
Yes they did. EPC, while not as blunt as Gillette's "toxic masculinity" are of similar mindset. In their words:
Advocating for Social CausesSocietys views on gender roles have evolved, and how the world perceives the role of men has changed. Many men define themselves through their personalities, not just their gender. As a brand, Schick celebrates every mans individuality and embraces all expressions of healthy masculinity. So, we shed the old stereotypical images and ideas of what masculinity is and repositioned Schick Hydro to reflect men as they are today.
The Man I Am campaign launched in late 2018 to recognize individuality by praising men for who they are, instead of telling them who they should be. Disruptive advertising featured real men from historically underrepresented groups purposefully expressing themselves and their unique and unexpected talents.
NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Well just crap.
