That’s fine. We need protective tariffs more than we need a trade deal.

Gradually bump the tariffs up to 50% and see what comes back.
Keep bumping until the trade deficit comes down.

I agree 100%, we need to recognize China is not our friend, they are a real competitor and enemy....

Back during the Cold War we did little to no trading with the USSR, we should take the same approach with China.

Cut them off, trade on our terms where possible, otherwise nothing.....

But I’m afraid after Trump, eventually we’ll get another weak minded Republican or Liberal Democrat who will crawl back to China with their knee pads on and sell us down the river....

Problem is exports keep dropping faster than imports so the deficit keeps rising.
