Dan Le Batard will remain at ESPN after meeting with network boss following anti-Trump outburst

ESPN host Dan Le Batard will remain at ESPN after meeting with ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro on Thursday following last week’s political outburst that violated company policy.

Le Betard skipped his radio program, “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz," on Monday following a weekend of trying to persuade to soften his rule that politics should be avoided on the sports network. The Miami-based Le Batard missed Thursday show to meet face-to-face with the ESPN honcho and they decided he would remain at the network.

Fox News has learned the talks went well and progress was made. Le Betard will return to his ESPN television program, “Highly Questionable” on Froday and his ESPN Radio program on Monday.

ESPN declined comment when reached by Fox News.

This is the network that re-hired Olbermann.

Here’s the Cliff’s notes of the meeting.

Management: Dan, we couldn’t agree with you more, but, unfortunately, Republicans watch sports too! Can you just tone it down, and we’ll just make this look like we scolded you.

Dan: Well... if you give me another million a year, ok.

Management: Done.

LeBatard is a HUGE moneymaker for ESPN--it's one of the most popular shows on live streaming through the ESPN app and on satellite radio. They can't afford to dump LeBatard because the likes of FOX Sports Radio and even Barstool Networks would grab him in no time flat.

Now, he’s a real buffoon instead of acting like one.

As much as I like sports, I always thought it was stupid to actually watch people talk about sports, just watch the damn games.

Honest to God, I remember when ESPN was actually about SPORTS... anytime day or night, with the exception of maybe SportsCenter round up.. if you turned on the channel you would actually find a broadcast of some sport being played....

Now its just idiots flapping their lips, pretending they are offering some meaningful insight into something....

ESPN is basically the view for straight men as far as I’m concerned.

Same idiotic mind numbing drivel, just aimed at men instead of women.

How much is there to talk about anyway? By now hasn’t every conceivable play happened especially in soccer or golf or baseball or basketball?

Everything is racist with this guy. He is as bad as Olberman. The last straw was when he said if you don’t agree with changing NBA owners to NBA governors then you’re probably racist.

I have never been a fan of "sports talk" either. Sometimes the talkers are more competitive than the sports they are talking about. I like to watch the Astros pregame to see the lineup and get the latest on who is injured, who is coming back, etc; but I don't care to listen to prognosticators.

Sports talk is like sitting at the bar discussing the games with your buddies. Some of it I like - Bob Ryan, Tim Cowlishaw, Woody What’s-his-name from Denver - but too many of the talkers are always looking to turn some incident into another Watergate. And on ESPN too many of them are just out-and-out shills for the NBA (which ESPN is in the tank for billions of dollars) and suffer from an over-weaning PC. LeRetard I can do without.

Exactly, and we know why.........same reason Mr Schilling is still NOT in baseball hall of fame....Christian conservatives need not apply.
