National Education Association—held its annual convention in Houston the beginning of July. Attended by thousands of delegates on behalf of teachers and educators across the country, the meeting includes a Representative Assembly where resolutions and new business items are proposed and voted on.
This year, 6,000 NEA delegates (a low attendance compared to previous years) approved teaching the concept of “White Fragility” in trainings and staff development, endorsed “the fundamental right to abortion under Roe v. Wade,” and called on the U.S. government to “accept responsibility for the destabilization of Central American countries… and that this destabilization is a root cause of the recent increase of asylum seekers in the United States,” to name a few.
But a proposal focused on, wait for it, student learning, was defeated.
New Business Item 2 proposed the NEA should “re-dedicate itself to the pursuit of increased student learning in every public school in America by putting a renewed emphasis on quality education.”

There is a book out there that tries to convince White People to stop being so fragile, admit their guilt, and basically accept the fact that everything bad in the world is their fault.
Is the book being endorsed or condemned by the NEA?
While I’d love to see teachers telling snow flakes to stop being fragile, somehow I don’t see that happening.
They can even quote Kippling and tell them that it is time for them to shoulder the White Man’s Burden.

Right now the EU, with their new female PM, is touting "climate neutral." Apparently neutrality is special. Most likely it is false.
I associate “Neutral” with “Luke Warm,” which, in turn, I associate with “Laodicea” and “Spew out of my mouth.”

Teachers have a lot of white guilt. Most of them are white women. This world could be a whole lot better without their ignorance.

But when a duly elected school board votes on school issues, in full compliance with state mandates, it can still be overturned by the state if they go against Big Education.
East Ramapo, NY voters elected a majority of people onto the school board that have their kids in private schools. The Board proposes to keep school/property taxes low. The proposals fund ALL state mandated programs. The Town votes, supports the low-tax proposals, it passes.
Then the lawsuits fly. State threatens to take over the board, then compromises by pushing their State Shill as “Advisor”.
The fight for your children’s minds will be harder than you can imagine.
How about teaching the Golden Rule? Then you wouldn’t need all of this malarkey.

IOW, if you crap on a white guy for being a white guy, and he either gets mad or points out any flaws in your accusation, then....the white guy is at fault again. White men should grovel like ButtyGuy, or “Beto”, and should NEVER argue back with “a person of color”.
“Color fragility”, if this keeps up, will refer to the penetration a 9mm bullet makes when a white guy is assaulted by ROCs - Racists of Color - at an Antifa riot. I’ve worked for everything I’ve got and am way past tired of lazy buttholes telling me I owe them squat. ROCs don’t study hard, work hard or save hard. They then want to steal from someone who did all three.
BTW - my wife is browner than Kamala Harris and came from extreme poverty. She’s been told she has “privilege” as well. She would reply the same as Jim Robinson posted: Our privilege is living in America, where hard work is rewarded and we are free to become whatever we can earn.

This ks nothing new. I used to have access to the NEA news letter back in the 70’s. It was the most radical waste of paper ever printed. All the stuff we are dealing with today, identity politics, LGBTQ, Racism and supporting every off the wall radical leftist agenda, etc., were front and center for the hard core of the NEA even back then.
