California may be on the verge of eliminating single-family zoning statewide. This is huge. And it’s a sign of how quickly the politics around housing and land use have shifted in just the last year.

That is exactly what it’s about. Placing ghettorats in the middle of nice neighborhoods only creates more of the same. This isn’t new. But building four-plexes in neighborhoods is. They’ve been throwing up public housing in white neighborhoods for a long time. It just brings down the quality of life people have worked hard for.
