●Johnson has formally become prime minister following an audience with the queen and has delivered his first speech at Downing Street.
●He will now begin to form his cabinet.
LONDON The transition of power in Britains parliamentary democracy is brutal and lightning quick. Outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May curtsied to Queen Elizabeth II on Wednesday afternoon and resigned. Soon after, Boris Johnson bowed and was asked to form a new government.
The doubters, the doomsters, the gloomsters are going to get it wrong again, Johnson said in his first remarks as prime minister outside 10 Downing Street. The people who bet against Britain are going to lose their shirts, because were going to restore trust in our democracy.
Johnson declared, I have every confidence that in 99 days we will have cracked [Brexit].
He said the U.K. is coming out of the E.U. at the end of October, no ifs or buts.
After three years of unfounded self-doubt, it is time to change the record, he said

Now Her Majesty can head to Balmoral...
Bust their globalist asses Boris!
Godspeed!

Johnson is going to get more done in one month than May and Cameron accomplished in their combined terms.
Godspeed, Boris.
May it prove as historic as Neville Chamberlain resigning to make way for Winston Churchill.
Maybe NOW Brexit will proceed.
One thing can said about Boris, h might be the worst dressed Prime Minister in history. He sure is a ladies man. He has a 32 year old hottie WAG.
Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac.
Hurrah
President Trump will be the first to admit his marriage record is not perfect, but he and Melania had been a solid team for quite awhile before he ran for office. Not to mention, that the president is on good terms with all his children...and even his exes speak well of him and his competence.
Prime Minister Johnson’s personal life leaves much to be desired. Perfection not required for the job obviously — but hopefully he will not fall into scandal of any sort. Prayers for England!
Can Nigel Farage be part of the new government, too, or is it, only, members of The Conservative Party who are able to form the new government?
We’re not voting for a Pope, here.
I think they need a coalition of parties, unless the one party won the majority of seats. Not sure the make-up of Johnson’s coalition or if he even formed one yet.
Were not voting for a Pope, here.
Exactly. And this country wasn’t founded, or been defended, by a bunch of popes, either.
Make UK Great Again!
Sam Houston, first President of the Republic of Texas was:
- an alcoholic and drunkard
- technically a womanizer as he lived with a woman not his wife while still married to his estranged wife
- a man with multiple business failures
- known to physically assail those who opposed him in debate
- kicked out of the Cherokee tribes for being annoying and irritating (and drunk)
- de facto exiled from the United States to Texas by Congress and the President.
With all that, he still fought a war against one of the top armies in the world at the time (Mexico’s Santa Anna and his army were just back from the Napoleonic Wars and were generally regarded as something like 4th best in the world) *and won.* In his final battle, he destroyed the Mexican Army with his rag-tag pickup army in just 18 minutes.
I don’t *care* about a leader’s personal life as long as they can do the job. Sam Houston was a failure in his life - except for the parts that really mattered.
It’s a different age we’re in due to media culture and how fast information travels.
But yes...so long as personal life scandals don’t translate into propensity for political, public ones...Then all should be good!
