The Trump administration has not installed a single mile of new wall in a previously fenceless part of the U.S.-Mexico border in the 30 months since President Trump assumed office, despite his campaign promise to construct a “big beautiful wall.”

The 50 miles of completed replacement barrier is a 10-mile gain since early April. In Trump’s two and a half years in office, his administration has installed an average 1.7 miles of barrier per month, and none of it in areas that did not previously have some sort of barrier. A total 205 miles of new and replacement barrier has been funded in the two and a half years since Trump took office.

When Trump entered office, pubs in the Senate and Congress were solidly in the camp of the dems, and to an extent still are. Back then, they half expected (hoped) Trump would not be in office long.
Trump needs to actively involve himself and his famous tweets to primary out these RINOs and gain the house back. If he can, his 2nd term will be when he moves mountains.
Trumps achilles heel is his family. Threats against his family have stopped him dead in his tracks. The wall needs to be built by other means. His entire organization, his family, are held hostage by the deep state. What good he can do is in public relations.

Exactly right. It is logical to presume that the previous poor quality fence was built in high high traffic areas, deteriorated and needed replacement. A sensible planner would rebuild dilapidated sections in high traffic areas first, then move to areas where the traffic diverted after securing those bad sections.
While all of us would have liked 2,900 miles of new fence in four years, many posters have already pointed out all the multitude of enemies on this side of the fence thwarting that.

Since the old fence wasn’t really a fence but just a bunch of junk you can walk right past, the difference is unimportant.

What lie? The report is by administration officials. I thought I had read elsewhere months back that there was some new fence but even then it was minimal. The latest reports by the administration seem to clarify that no, only replacement work has been accomplished so far. If you think this is a lie, where is new fence where there wasn’t any? Specifics please as I’d love to agree with you that the latest administration report is wrong.
