Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has warned that bully boys like the next European Commission president will construct a more federalised European Union.
The EU bully boys (and girls) are not pretending anymore, Mr Farage wrote in The Telegraph on Friday. A deeper and more centralised political union is to be built, with no dissent allowed.
Remarking on Ursula von der Leyens recent confirmation as President of the European Commission by the European Parliament where the former German defence minister was the only candidate on the ballot Mr Farage called her a fanatical federalist whose appointment was the result of a Franco-German stitch-up.
Von der Leyen has an incredibly ambitious programme for her five-year term. In 20 years of sitting in the Strasbourg chamber, I have never heard a speech like the one she gave this week, in which she set out an overt bid for the EU to take control of all kinds of arrangements inside individual nation-states, from an EU minimum wage to the harmonisation of corporation tax, Mr Farage wrote.

The EU, because this time Europe’s great powers asked nicely rather than just send in an army....

Thanks E. Pluribus Unum.
One nation, one people, one leader. It sounded better in German.
Get out while you can. Leave the EU tyrants to their “humanitarian crisis” menace, you deal with your own.
Well, considering her performance at last job as a head of German military we might expect EU to fall apart too.
EUroNazis are the 4th Reich (in drag, but still the 4th Reich)
Yep. Ein Reich, ein Volk, ein Fuhrer. But the German army wasnt a joke then, the way it is now.
Just thinking - who will foot the bill? The Italians, maybe?
“If we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new dark age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science.”
"This is what democracy looks like!"
Sooner or later, the EU tyrants will try to pressure and punish Hungary and Poland, and the other central European nations that desire control over their borders, into falling in line with all the EU rules and regulations. I wonder if those former Soviet satellites have built strong enough economies and institutions to go it on their on? I think they will have to eventually unless the entire EU project comes apart.
“...EU tyrants will try to pressure and punish Hungary and Poland...”
Ho-hum. With what? Strongly worded letters?
Take them to the European Court of Justice and seek fines. They have ways to sanctions member states and now it's an easy bet they'll development more in an attempt to force compliance, especially with immigration policies.
OK, who’s going to collect the EU fines & by what means of coercion?
Close all roads leading in & out of Poland? That takes cooperation by EU members who don’t care about lost business and could be regarded by the Poles as a casus belli.
Total trade embargo? Punitive tariffs? Brussels may be forgetting that EU members are still sovereign nations. It’s not the EU Reich just yet.
If all else fails, they may attack Warsaw with the mighty Belgian Luftwaffe.
“Ursula von der Leyen”
What is it about Germans and control? The only candidate on the ballot? Even Hitler had competition.
There are many ways EU member states could be sanctioned. You simply do not want to believe it is even possible. They are probably making many calculations as to how far they could go with sanctions. But, like any governmental body, they must have some way to punish members who ignore the rules.
They must have some rules because there have been negotiations concerning how much GB must pay to the EU upon Brexit. And we do hear about European Court rulings periodically.
The European Court seems to think they can hand down rulings to be followed.

Fascism without the snappy uniforms.
Real question: is the European Court the successor to The Hague?
