News of the OZY Fest cancellation wasnt sitting well with out-of-state ticket holders on Friday, with many traveling from far and wide to be at the two-day Central Park event which cost a whopping $399 to attend.
New Yorkers, on the other hand who blasted the city for renting out a typically free public space and going capitalist were ecstatic

If you mock Global Warming when its still snowing during Baseball season, your ignorant because thats just weather.
But when its hot in Summer, well see thats proof of global warming,
proving your just ignorant
not ozzyfest but OZY ? never mind.I still wouldnt like to go no matter what.. emily littela here signing out
Are Raul Castro and Nicholas Maduro still scheduled to Headline the event??
You have denigrated “a good dump” by comparing it to this event fuster cluck.
At least I won’t hear the annoying spots boosting this very lefty event on Q104.3. And I will be happy that the time ane energy for this was wasted. Cool!!
Nutjobs...all of them.
My first thought was, Ozzy is still touring?
I mean if the Stones can still do it, why not?
I saw them with BOC in the “black and blue” tour back in either the early 90s or late 80s it all sort of blends together.
Ozzy would have nothing to do with this nonsense.
Has Rachel Ray rehabilitated herself after the N-word thing?
Megan. Megyn. Meghan.
Nothing good ever comes from womyn with that name.
Neither Ozzy Osbourne or Ozzie and Harriet’s grandsons (Ricky’s sons ) were scheduled to play there so it’s no loss.

“You ever just sit around reading women’s magazines with your twin brother and he keeps bugging you to sing a love song with him?”
It's certainly no "Garden Party".
How gay.
Meanwhile the Great South Bay Music Festival I'm going to today and the baseball game I'm going to tomorrow is sold out and on like donkey kong.
The Politburo out on summer vacation.
LOL! Why that idiot has any kind of a career is beyond me. I tried listening to his crap once and I just didn’t get it, like Alicia Keys, another one with a fake pretentious name, like listening to lame jingle music for cheese whiz but what do I know. I guess today if you change your last name to something stupid you are considered good. It baffles me today how the music and entertainment biz works. I can go into a dive bar and the band there will blow me away then I see Jay Z or Beyonce on TV making a gazillion dollars for crap that sounds like a 3 year old wrote it with his toes, every song is the same, boom boom go the drums and blah blah blah goes the performer
Geeez, does the military use that video today as a replacement for water boarding terrorists?
Generally, NYers are always happy when huge events get cancelled because they are a major pain in the neck in summertime! Whether it’s riots after Diana Ross sings or endless detours, blocked streets at festivals and street fairs, annoying parades, nutcases misbehaving at the Republican convention, etc., most NYers just want a quiet Saturday afternoon. Manhattan is still the capitalist center of the world.
While I have no opinion on OZY Fest itself, many New Yorkers are ignorant of how THEY (taxpayers) DO NOT take care of “their prize park”, Central Park.
Ignorance like this guy; “To deny people who pay tax dollars the reasonable use of the Great Lawn for a large commercial event, its really a break with precedent, he told the New York Times.”
In fact the great bulk of the cost of maintaining and improving Central Park is NOT via the taxpayers. The bulk of the funds keeping the park in shape come from a private non-profit corporation - The Central Park Conservancy. It runs the park under a contract with the city of New York. The Conservancy gets the bulk of its funds from private donations, small and large, from private individuals, private corporations and private foundations. It does get some contract revenue from the city and shares some of the revenue from some of the concessions with the city, but those are minor compared to the Conservancy’s contributions from its own sources.
The Conservancy was formed by people who cared about Central Park and cared about preserving it, and had watched it deteriorate so much in the 1960s and 1970s. By agreement with the City the Conservancy took over the park, raised the contributions and saved it - NOT the “tax payers”.
Even no longer a NYC resident, I still contribute to the Conservancy. There is no great urban park in the U.S. that is its equal. I am proud to be part of the private interests that have been keeping the park in shape.
I wonder how much revenue the Conservancy and the City have given up with the cancellation of OZY Fest, and how much that revenue would have contributed to the parks annual budget. I wonder if it was worth - the Conservancy and the City - giving the ungrateful public free reign of the Great Lawn for those nine days (seeing as how THEY DO NOT pay for most of the upkeep of the park).
Oh no!
Since they cancelled how will Megan Rapinoe tell everyone how much she hates America and President Trump. If only there was some way she could get her message out. /sarcasm
I would have loved to see what the tickets sales were but without the event happening, they have no need to release them anywhere. My guess is there weren’t as many as they wanted. Cook a meal with Rachael Ray? I see no way that could work with a large crowd.
Why didn’t they just call it Libfest?
And I “still” have no idea what an OZY festival celebrates, nor why, nor who any of these people ??? are.
