New York’s climate plan will drive big changes, if it works (only 11.51 years left)

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Solar panels on every roof. Parking meters that double as car chargers. Wind turbines towering above farm fields and ocean waves.

A new law signed Thursday by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo sets the nation’s most aggressive targets for reducing carbon emissions and is intended to drive dramatic changes over the next 30 years.

“It’s definitely going to cost ratepayers a lot more for reliable electricity,” said Gavin Donohue, president of Independent Power Producers of New York, whose members produce three-quarters of the state’s electricity. He said efficient, low-emission natural gas plants built in the last 10 years are needed to keep the lights on.

“To say we’re not going to have any fossil fuel by 2050 is preposterous,” Donohue said. “Are we not going to have airplanes or gas-fueled cars? Is everyone going to have to retrofit their houses?”

“This is the most ambitious, the most well-crafted legislation in the country,” Gore said.

The Sex Poodle flew in on his private jet from his beachfront mansion in Montecito just to make that statement.

“Are we not going to have airplanes or gas-fueled cars? Is everyone going to have to retrofit their houses?”

Now you’re catching on.

In commie countries, only the government gets to use cars and planes.

One state — really one city — means nothing. It is like your pinky saying it is going vegan.

I didn’t realize that the state of New York was polluting so much that fixing things there would save the world!?

Thank goodness. The rest of us can keep our money and our cars. :)

That should pretty much kill what’s left of manufacturing in that state.

Other then some hedge fund operators and their harems, everyone else should be freezing in the dark.

Yep. Any business there is a large consumer of electricity situation manufacturing and other industrial uses will be looking for new places to relocate. It is simply impractical, even with today’s technology and most likely future technology to dedicate so much land and resources to the electrical generation that Relies on the sun shining with the wind blowing that could be generated on a much smaller footprint using a mix of natural gas call nuclear facilities It regardless of the weather.

I understand Omar - she grew up in a culture where people were brainwashed to simply ‘hate the infidel’ and hate America - it’s that simple.

But Democrats like Cumo seem a bit harder to figure out. They are SMART PEOPLE, at least the ones at the top. They have to understand that they’re bifurcating the country into red states and blue states, and absolutely destroying their blue states. Long term, they know that their states will become absolute wastelands, while Red America continues to thrive, with refugees from the blue states pouring in - the ones with money and talent, mainly. Hard to believe that they want this outcome, but they must - could it be that they hate America as much as Omar?

Yeh, China’s bringing one new coal fired power plant on line per day. And, half of the coal mines in China are on fire and can’t be extinguished. These mines that are on fire contribute to fully 1.0% of earths total hydrocarbon generated emissions. So, until Asia, Africa, middle est, Eastern Europe (basically rest of world) decide to stop using coal and wood for fuel we are wasting our time with windmills and such.

Global warming politicians are predictably going to fraudulently claim that they successfully saved us from politically correct global warming.

“Are we not going to have airplanes or gas-fueled cars? Is everyone going to have to retrofit their houses?” * Yup, afraid so. The real challenge will be AOC’s vision of replacing airplane flights to Hawaii with train transportation. I have a lot of faith in American ingenuity but this one will take some creativity 🥴

Upstate and Upstaters are already being sucked dry by this moron and the Socialist Cabal ruling the State of Gnu Yak. The fact that the sun shines so rarely in the Twilight Zone makes Solar a joke. Windy, yes, but we love our birds and bats (outside..) This political putz is comfortable in his new “pad” in the City and his all inclusive resort in Downtown Albany, surrounded burly his own Praetorian Guard In Stetsons and Purple Ties. When will someone JUST SAY NO?

Absolutely!

I have heard that the U.S. already exceeds the standards set by the Paris Climate Accords. And if I’m not mistaken China did sign on to it but I’ve never heard the nanny-statist U.N. rebuke China for doing nothing.
