These Jersey Democrats helped kill move to impeach Trump

Rep. Tom Malinowski last month became the first federal lawmaker from New Jersey to call for beginning impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

But when an impeachment resolution reached the House floor Wednesday, Malinowski, D-7th Dist., voted to table it, effectively killing the measure. His spokeswoman Amanda Osborne did not respond to requests for comment.

In fact, six of the 11 New Jersey Democrats opposed the measure, including all four who are in their first term.

It followed a national trend: a majority of House Democrats voted to table the measure, as did every Republican. The resolution sponsored by Rep. Al Green, D-Texas went down to defeat, 332-95. The three other first-term Jersey Democrats — Reps. Jeff Van Drew, D-2nd Dist.; Andy Kim, D-3rd Dist.; and Mikie Sherrill, D-11th Dist. — all voted with Malinowski to table the resolution, as did Reps. Josh Gottheimer, D-5th Dist., and Albio Sires, D-8th Dist., and the only Republican in the delegation, Rep. Chris Smith, R-4th Dist.

On the other hand, Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-12th Dist., who like Malinowski has called for impeachment proceedings to begin, voted against tabling.

She was joined in opposition by four other New Jersey lawmakers: Reps. Donald Norcross, D-1st Dist.; Frank Pallone Jr., D-6th Dist.; Bill Pascrell Jr., D-9th Dist.; and Donald Payne Jr., D-10th Dist.

Maybe some of them have handlers or mentors that have clued them in to the key to a socialist’s political career’s longevity, which is to keep one’s dreams of a communist America to one’s self until voting is abolished.

The Democrats are on the verge of total implosion. The radical kooks won’t be kept pacified too much longer. Pelosi is holding on to power by a shoestring. Trump hate keeps that volatile coalition together, but when he wins re-election next year all hell will break loose on their side!

Simple, they were ordered by Pelosi.

It's the usual shenanigans, with the ideologically old-style Democrat districts being told to vote aye on the tabling motion to have any chance of being re-elected in their Trumpian districts, and hard-left base district reps being allowed to vote nay on the tabling motion, so they could go back to their districts and say they tried REALLY HARD to get THAT SONOB*TCH IMPEACHED.

If it were anything more than a show vote, the hammer would have come down on them all from the House whip (to mix metaphors). The last thing Pelosi wants right now is to stir up the swamp gas; she must know that Trump is going to waltz into his second term, and her only concern now is trying to keep the House from following him and kicking her out of the Speaker's chair.

Malinowski and Gottheimer voted this way to protect themselves in swing districts. Sires is safe but he’s probably the only one smart enough to figure out that there is a huge downside to pissing off Trump.

There is a $20-$30 billion Gateway Tunnel project between NJ and NYC in the works, and the political leadership in New Jersey is all bent out of shape because the Trump administration has refused to even acknowledge that they’ll conduct the necessary environmental reviews for the project. With all the anti-Trump political grandstanding and the lawsuits these @ssholes have been filing over the last 2+ years, Trump has basically told the whole state to go f#&% themselves.

At some point it becomes too late to impeach a president, because then the people can remove the president through an election.

It’s already late July of the third year of a four year term. Unless the democrats plan to impeach in an election year (just to harm), it’s getting to be too late.

Yes, and Antifa will be unleased to inflict violence and murder. Let's not underestimate them either. They are organized, well financed (thanks Soros), and motivated. My concern is some of them are blood thirsty psychopaths who will unleash hell.

Will not be a campaign issue for them. Very smart on their behalf.

Pelosi, in essence saved them from screwing themselves when seeking reelection.

I agree. The new dimwits replacing the old dimwits want no business keeping their totalitarian brains in check. They’re trying to make their commie professors proud as they are entitled to get what they want! The sense of entitlement is pervasive in this country!

"The Democrats are on the verge of total implosion. "

They've been on the "verge" for a long time. What are they waiting for? I wish they'd hurry it up.
