‘Trump’s Going to Get Re-elected, Isn’t He?’
The New York Times ^ | June 16, 2019 | Thomas L. Friedman

Posted on 07/17/2019 9:27:09 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I’m struck at how many people have come up to me recently and said, “Trump’s going to get re-elected, isn’t he?” And in each case, when I drilled down to ask why, I bumped into the Democratic presidential debates in June. I think a lot of Americans were shocked by some of the things they heard there. I was.

All of the working Americans will pay, and we will become the new Venezuela. That is, if they get their wish.

Regarding third term, I seriously hope we have some good candidates warming the bench. Tradition says Pence would run and he would probably be good, but I sure would like to see him get fired up and be more Trump like between now and then.

Dear Democrats: This is not complicated! Just nominate a decent, sane person, one committed to reunifying the country and creating more good jobs, a person who can gain the support of the independents, moderate Republicans and suburban women who abandoned Donald Trump in the midterms and thus swung the House of Representatives to the Democrats and could do the same for the presidency. And that candidate can win!

But please, spare me the revolution! It can wait. Win the presidency, hold the House and narrow the spread in the Senate, and a lot of good things still can be accomplished. “No,” you say, “the left wants a revolution now!” O.K., I’ll give the left a revolution now: four more years of Donald Trump.

This is correct - but in fact it is complicated. For the simple reason that “crazy racist” Donald Trump has smoked the Democrats socialists out. Pelosi is no more "a decent, sane person . . . committed to reunifying the country and creating more good jobs” than Bernie Sanders - or any other socialist - is.

Trump is not really, actually, all that conservative. He didn’t come from the conservative wing of the Republican Party, in reality he was more comfortable with Ross Perot and the Reform Party. But it seems that way to anyone who, like our author, is steeped in the cynicism which is the “objective journalism” scam.

In that worldview, calling someone who fought in Florida against an Establishment which didn’t want Mara Lago to be integrated a “racist” is legitimate discourse rather than fanatical slander and libel.

The worst thing about all the RATs running for president is it may bring back the Hilldebeest when they all fall flat on their faces.

That doesn’t mean a Democratic candidate should stand for nothing, just keep it simple: Focus on building national unity and good jobs.

When was the last time a Democratic candidate has stood for these things? Or more importantly, when was the last time a Democrat President has delivered either of those things? One of those things?

Sure not Obama. Surely not any of the current Democrat wanna-be President candidates.

President Trump has delivered jobs. You know how he can deliver on unity? Stop being such whiny-pusses and support him. Any dis-unity comes from the unhappy Left...those still not willing to accept that Trump won in 2016.

In recent months I have seen about a dozen photos and video clips of Hillary Clinton speaking at an event of some kind. In EVERY one of them, her ass is planted on a couch or in a soft chair ... even when she’s on a stage where any normal person would be standing up and speaking at a lectern.

No way in hell is she healthy enough for another campaign. She barely made it through the last one.

Successful lawsuits by Judicial Watch have forced Los Angeles County to purge more than 1.5 million ineligible voters from its rolls, and Kentucky is now purging 250,000.

It’s a start.

“No way in hell is she healthy enough for another campaign. She barely made it through the last one. “

Hillary Clinton’s public appearances were pretty limited for a presidential candidate. It’s why she didn’t travel more to the midwest.

When she did go out, her crowds were smaller than a little town mayor’s. I don’t know how she managed to win the popular vote. Must have been DNC Media brainwashing.

Need a very strong, very tough successor.

Can’t have another GHWB, squandering the Reagan Revolution.

One, he’s entertaining as hell whether you like him or not.

Yes. Absolutely. Could you ever imagine having some blathering, lying, empty suit in office again (some Romney or Jeb! type?). Not me. I won’t vote.

Trump has shown us that America DOESN’T have to slide into the abyss of history and has done so as we’re already circling the downspout. The RATS / media throw everything they have at him, every moment of every day, because they’re SO frustrated that their plans to ruin our country (while profiting off of the ruination, of course) have been stymied.

Pence is good.

I think he’d be better than GHWB turned out to be.

But I’d love a younger candidate, as long as he’s willing and able the fight to restore our republic.

There was quite a lot of fraud.

Some of that will be neutralized this time around.

Which is why the Dems are encouraging the invasion at our southern border.
