Gustaf can remember the precise date when he last used cash. 'It was October 7 last year,' he told me without hesitancy.
'I found an old note that I had forgotten about and used it to buy some sweets.'
Like many others at his university in Gothenburg, Sweden, Gustaf relies on cards and smartphones to spend money. 'None of us use cash you just don't need it these days,' he said.
Card only: Sweden has become a cashless society so shoppers have switched to cards and smartphones
But there is one problem a big one. The 20-year-old computer science student keeps losing his bank cards, along with others that swipe open electronic locks for his apartment, gym and lecture halls. 'I laugh about it but it is very inconvenient.'
So he plans to get a tiny microchip, scarcely bigger than a grain of rice, injected into his hand which he says will make life easier as well as being 'cool and futuristic' following the lead of at least 4,000 other Swedes as their country hurtles into a brave new world without hard cash.
They have chips inserted under their skin usually above the thumb to pay for their coffees and bus and train travel, waving a hand across payment machines as if using a contactless card.

Well, put me in prison for not going all out tech.
The only place where I consistently use cash to pay my barber.
I recently had to pay cash for my lunches in the cafeteria of the factory I was visiting. I collected a pocketfull of worthless change .
[It is the forerunner to the Mark. —— Well thats kinda Biblical...]
Yep - The world is not there yet - I daresay most of us expect cash to disappear. (people like you guys and myself)

The snowflake generation seems especially ready for the Mark. They don’t see the danger. Not all of them, of course. But a lot of them have been taught how cool Socialism/Marxism/Communism/Globalism is.
Imagine if Adolph Hitler had access to this kind of technology.
The “world guy” will make Adolph look like a choir boy in comparison.
[NYC lost power for just a few hours a couple days ago and they were freaking out. Imagine if theyd lost power for weeks and there was no real cash and no low skilled cashiers who understood how to count cash and give change to the few out of touch old pensioners who had cash on hand.]
Yep. Just one of several reasons to prep, too. Just to get over short-term emergencies.
Everyone seems to forget Bank of America. You do not need ID to open an account there. Illegals use BOC to transfer money to where ever.
[No matter what question I have, they say: We have an app. Have you used the app? The app will help you. Have you downloaded the app? You should use the app.]
Every freaking fast-food place pushes apps as well. A lot of coupons only work if you have “the app”.
The upside is that some of them will accept a picture of a coupon (some of them) on your Global Tracking Device, oops I mean, “your cellphone”.
I pay with cash when ever I can. Screw credit/debit cards. Merely tracking devices.
I opened accounts (gone now) at BofA a few years ago. I needed I.D.
But I don’t know about recently. Other than, you have to have $1,500 minimum to keep from getting any fees.
yep

I’ve designed and built some. Lotsa SQL on multiple platforms. But I’ve been outta the game for awhile.
Now all I do is look at lousy jobs....
I think all banking falls under the DHS umbrella (in some form) these days.
Dunno.
I know someone who was working for a bank, checking out all the transactions (they were looking for illegal activity / terrorism funding).
Everything changed on 09/11/2001. /Captain Obvious
Yeah, they were really cool.
“Ive never used an ATM. Wouldnt know how. Wouldnt know my password.”
In an emergency, I needed to use an ATM but wasn’t able to. Even though I knew my password, it had expired years earlier. Apparently, at our credit union if an ATM isn’t used for six months, it’s in some kind of limbo.
Why would you ever want to hand the government and potentially hackers the ability to cut you off from your money as well as the ability to see every single last purchase you ever make?

Because the technology is so cool, man!
Besides, that Bible is full of old stories and you can’t trust it, anyways!
That stuff is crazy, just like conspiracy theories.
CNN, MSNBC, Yahoo, Rolling Stone and Huffington Post tells us how to think! They are our new god!
That Meghan Rappin’ Ho is sooooo cool! She’s like a lesbian man and she hates President Trump!!
I can’t wait until her rap album comes out!!
And then George met the real George....
He wears a cape. He doesn’t follow the trends.
