The family of a man found dead in Ed Buck’s home two years ago are accusing the prominent Democratic donor of revenge porn and human trafficking in a new court filing, local outlets reported.
Relatives of 26-year-old Gemmel Moore — who was found dead of a drug overdose in Buck’s Los Angeles home June 27, 2017 — filed a wrongful death suit against the political activist earlier this year and amended it recently with the new claims.
The amended complaint alleges that Buck “regularly solicits sex from black men in exchange for temporary housing and/or monetary compensation,” CBS Los Angeles reported Monday.
“Information we received from other victims of Ed Buck that Ed Buck loves to take pictures of these young men, loves to take videos of them in their inebriated state,” said Jasmyne Cannick, an advocate for the Moore family.
The filing accuses Buck of sharing videos of his alleged “meth-fueled sexual encounters” with Moore.
According to the complaint, filed in LA Superior Court, Buck also “knowingly utilized interstate commerce” for the purpose of getting Moore from Texas to Southern California “for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts,” NBC4 reported.

On January 7, a black man named Timothy Dean was found dead in the West Hollywood home of Ed Buck, a prominent Democratic donor who came under investigation a year and a half ago when another black man, Gemmel Moore, died in his apartment.
In the immediate aftermath of the second death, Los Angeles activists organized protests, demanding justice for the two men in front of Buck’s house; they believe that law enforcement failed to fully investigate Buck in 2017 because of his close ties to elected officials, as well as differences in race and class.
And, on March 25, the Los Angeles Police Department revealed information that made Buck appear to be all the more suspicious: that Dean’s cause of death was the same as Moore’s in 2017: accidental meth overdose.
What do we know happened?
According to the Los Angeles Times, Timothy Dean, 55, died in Buck’s apartment on Laurel Avenue sometime between midnight and 2 a.m.

Lieu’s campaign says after the second death at Buck’s home, they donated the contributions they received to various charities.
Buck gave Adam Schiff, now chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, $2,700 in 2016.
The campaign says the money went to the nonprofit Trevor Project.”

Ed Buck, the California Democratic megadonor suspected in the deaths of two black men who suffered fatal crystal methamphetamine overdoses in his home 18 months apart, is now facing allegations of human trafficking and revenge porn, according to a new report.
The Daily Beast reported that the family of 26-year-old Gemmel Moore has made the new allegations as part of an ongoing civil case against Buck, who has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Democratic Party candidates in California and is well known in LGBTQ political circles. Moore died of a methamphetamine overdose in July 2017. He was found naked on a mattress in Buck’s living room, which was littered with drug paraphernalia.
The complaint by Moore's family previously alleged that Buck injected Moore with crystal meth and required Moore to view “hardcore gay male pornography which played loudly on a large flatscreen television set,” while engaging in sex acts, according to the Beast.
The latest allegation from Moore's family claims that Buck “knowingly utilized interstate commerce for the purpose of recruiting, enticing and transporting” Moore from Texas to Los Angeles, for “commercial sex acts.”

Perhaps justice will be done.
The rich and powerful are rarely called to account while on this earth.
But perhaps this will be an exception.
It depends on what sort of convincing proof exists, and how much noise the victims’ advocates can generate.
Someone posted that yesterday. But I don’t see anything too strange there, outside of the farmer’s outfit Schiff has on.

Lesbian activist Jasmyne Cannick has published photos of pages from Gemmel Moore’s journal, which his family recently retrieved from the Sheriff’s Department, that describe a drug using relationship between him and Buck.
“My mind and action change. I am not the same person I was born to be,” Moore wrote in his journal.
“I felt as if I sold my soul to the devil — I want to be back in the hands of God.
I want to be healed from drugs, poverty and troubles.
I want independence.
I want my own.
There’s so much madness going on in my life.
It’s got to be illegal and wrong.
The way I was raised to be, you would never expect this.
“I just hope the end result isn’t death.
Someone needs to save me soon.
The only person in my corner is the person who turned me this way, the way I feel right now.
Honestly, I don’t care to live anymore.

On another page Moore explicitly called out his drug use as a problem.
“Something is seriously wrong with me and my body.
I don’t feel normal.
I honestly think it has to do with the injection of drugs.
