The Amazon pullout of Seattle continues. The corporate giant announced on Tuesday that it is going to build a 43-story tower in Bellevue.
It will be Amazons tallest building anywhere in the world, and it will be the tallest building in Bellevue, which has more than a few skyscrapers. Several thousand employees will be able to work there. So it looks like this is another part in the saga of Amazon leaving Seattle. All of this is because we have a city council and a mayor who have gone fanatic about socialism. They keep pushing anti-business policies.
What this means for the downtown Seattle real estate market is that when the economy inevitably starts to turn, it will be cataclysmic. When you have one company that takes up so many thousands of square feet of downtown real estate, and that company moves out, real estate prices will fall.
I dont know when this is going to happen, but I am very confident in my analysis; Seattle will fall harder than any other city in the country. This is because Seattle has been the craziest in its Leftist run-up during this boom economy that were enjoying right now.
We already have so many businesses on the brink of survival because of the minimum wage because of all of the controlling policies the city government keeps imposing. When the businesses start toppling, youre going to see all the support industry in downtown Seattle the food service, etc. fall hard, too

The people of Seattle elected those who will destroy their own city, which will soon become the “Detroit of the Northwest.”
Cue Seinfeld saying “that’s a shame.”
The on-going story of man, with few exceptions, America being one of them, is he is seemingly hell-bent to self destruction. Seattle, the new NY and California, gets big, and goes hard left to socialism which kills the goose (business) that laid the golden egg.
And around and around it goes. The astonishing of man’s history through the present is his astonishing propensity for his own self destruction.
Jesus is coming soon to fix all of that - forever.
Bezos is brilliant but Bill Gates was smart enough to build Microsoft in Redmond and Bellevue.
Seattle desperately trying to catch up to Los Angeles, Good Luck, we beat you big time with the Homeless fiasco.
This happened to Flint and Detroit....Puttsburg in automotive and heavy industry. How much is a company responsible for a community that builds up and becomes dependent upon it for survival?
They came for profit and they leave for profit. Somewhere along the way, many are left holding the inflated property and new jobless community. Social contract was the key phrase for Flint and Detroit, but poor management caused those jobs to die. Life is hard. Accept the cheese moved and make changes.
Every employer demands loyalty...until they decide you need to be let go. Every employee pledges loyalty....until they see their best interest is elsewhere. The social contract is bs spewed by folks that feel bad for the losers, who are in a world of hurt.
They need to move FURTHER AWAY from Seattle, as in to another state - a state that is FRIENDLY to job creators, not leaches.
...but I guess it is a start.
It's a real horse race, with San Francisco (homeless/feces paradise) and Austin (new camp anywhere law) thundering down the track, too.
Seattle is slowly circling the liberal (D) drain; people will vote in conservatives and the defeated libs will then blame them for Seattle going down.
Are there many blacks in Seattle?
“Social contract was the key phrase for Flint and Detroit, but poor management caused those jobs to die.”
Not that the unions were all that friendly to the people who employed them either. Plenty of blame to go around, especially compared to the success that non-union Honda and Toyota are having in producing cars here.
Bezos feels guilty for being a white capitalist pig.
He'll go off the deep end someday.
Will Bellview be a significantly better environment? Not aware of the Washington politics.
TIA
Seattle is suffering from Left Coast syndrome.
Good
There is a video on youtube called “Seattle Is Dying”. I believe they may be onto something.

Seattle was one of my favorite places to go visit, not anymore.
