I can picture that scenario ...
Not much business and one snowflake comments on the ‘cops are scaring customers away’ and a few of the snowflake heads got together and decided to tell the cops to run along.
(Same type of the old Mickey Rooney movies...kids sitting around and one of them (Rooney) says “I KNOW!, lets put on a show”)
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
LEO’s everywhere should simply stop going into Starbucks’. No announced boycott, no fanfare, just don’t go anymore.
Question:
If they officers had refused to leave, who would have come to help Starbucks remove them?
All they would have wound up with is more officers there.
I think the officers should have stayed. They have as much right to be there as anyone, and refusing them the right to sit down and eat or drink, is prejudicial treatment.
The person complaining should have been shown the door with a bootprint on their ass when they went through it.
I have no use for Starbucks, but boycotting the company because 1 idiot employee listened to 1 idiot customer is not necessary.
An Apology to the Tempe Police Department
July 07, 2019
Dear Chief Moir and the entire Tempe Police Department,
Thank you, Chief Moir, for the conversation today. On behalf of Starbucks,
I want to sincerely apologize to you all for the experience that six of
your officers had in our store on July 4.
When those officers entered the store and a customer raised a concern over
their presence, they should have been welcomed and treated with dignity
and the utmost respect by our partners (employees). Instead, they were
made to feel unwelcome and disrespected, which is completely unacceptable.
At Starbucks, we have deep appreciation for your department and the
officers who serve the Tempe community. Our partners rely on your service
and welcome your presence, which keeps our stores and the community a safe and welcoming place.
Our strong relationship with the Tempe Police Department has provided us
the opportunity to host several Coffee with a Cop events in area stores,
which bring residents and police together to discuss relevant issues and
find common ground. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our
relationship with you, and we agree that the experience of your officers
requires an important dialogue one that we are committed to being part of.
What occurred in our store on July 4 is never the experience your officers
or any customer should have, and at Starbucks, we are already taking the
necessary steps to ensure this doesnt happen again in the future.
I will be in Tempe this evening and welcome the opportunity to meet
with any of you in person to address concerns or questions. Sincerely, Rossann Williams executive vice president, president U.S. Retail
Starbucks Coffee Company
Even when suffering caffeine withdrawal in a Starbucks only airport I will pass on their coffee. I also know their company doesnt want my type in their stores, so I oblige them.
a customer not feeling safe because of the police presence...
Now why would a customer feel unsafe around LAW Enforcement?
Customer: “Can you remove the police, I feel uncomfortable.”
Barista hippy: “Yes Mrs. Clinton”.
Yada, yada, yada. Starbucks helped bring on this hatred. Enough with them. Thankfully, I’ve not been a patron.
Going out on a limb here:
There is no illustrious patron, that complained!
This was always just the employees doing.
Ya know, thought about that possible explanation. Odds are more than even you are correct.
I like the coffee (when it’s fresh, which it sometimes isn’t) and I buy the K-Cups of my favorites (French Roast, Pike Place). I agree that a boycott is a waste of time, if only because it won’t happen. In any case, most people here never seem to have set foot in a Starbucks or hated it if they did, so “boycotting” them won’t have much effect.
But emailing the corporate office will have an effect. Just tell them that you know it’s not corporate policy, since of course Starbucks is supposed to accommodate anyone (remember how they ended up pledging to open their bathrooms to homeless junkies to shoot up in after that staged protest by some black activists last year). Just remind them of that and say that they have failed, and need to train their staff how to handle things like this. That is, unless somebody is being assaulted by a homeless junkie, the complainant is the one who needs to move.
And since this idiot woman has probably been there all day using their free wifi, buying nothing, and posting on Antifa sites, she’s not getting them any income and she’s the one who needs to go.
Since SB makes the worse coffee I’ve ever tasted why would anyone pay $4 or more for a cup of it? I can buy a full large can of coffee and make many pots and drink as much as I want every day and NOT be insulted.
If I were the LEO I’d Boycott all robbery calls that come from Starbucks. Let the snowflakes handle the thieves with out guns.
Exactly. If they dont like it they should call the cops - better yet call 911 and tell the operator theyre triggered by the presence of cops!
same here. I either make the coffee, go to Dunkin Donuts or nothing.
I suspect Starbuck’s apologized for BUSINESS reasons and NOT for any honest reason.
“Posting a sign saying LEOs always welcome would end the problem and should be everywhere anyway.”
Sounds good overall, but for Starbucks that would mean losing three quarters of their customer base.
“One employee asks 6 cops to leave because one customer complained about their presence. Why on earth did the 6 cops capitulate? Seriously, STAND YOUR GROUND!!”
Good point! What are the employees going to do, call the police! I’m sure they’ll get a lot of sympathy from the other cops being pulled off of their real jobs, just to coddle a Metrosexual.
