I detest the “Veterans for Peace” pukes, but I respect their right to free speech. I just had to deal with seeing a bunch of them in a 4th of July parade the other day.
But these scumbags with their masks, shields, with implicit violence (never mind their EXPLICIT violence) really gets my goat. I am inclined to feel that they forfeit their 1st Amendment rights when they wear a mask and carry a shield.
Tell that to the mayor of Portland.

Did you ever notice they do not attack people in Virginia but only in DC? I guess the ‘shall issue’ concealed carry law in Virginia has alot to do with that.

I am a proponent of “An armed society is a polite society” viewpoint.
The Police have Bosses. The Boss says leave them alone. If they are getting their asses beat, help them by arresting whoever they are attacking. But other than that, leave them alone.

I wish I could believe that it was not true. That time has long passed.
There have been too many incidents where police have ignored aggravated assaults by Antifa rioters. There have been too many serious incidents where there were no arrests of a perpetrator. There have been too many incidents where perpetrators get off with "charges dismissed" or they receive trivial suspended sentences.
In contrast, a victim who forcibly resists an Antifa attacker can expect to endure arrest and prosecution to the fullest extent of the "law".
These incidents repeatedly happen in States and Municipalities that are dominated by Leftist Governments. The correlation is too obvious for denials to be credible.
I can only conclude that the Government officials in these areas want Antifa to intimidate and remove political opponents.
Even when police do arrest them, liberal prosecutors drop the most serious charges, & they get at most a wrist slap for littering or somesuch.
The organizations like Klantifa & RCP have pre-paid attorneys, many are members of the leftwing National Lawyers Guild.
That’s a huge advantage they have in recruiting “masses” of dumb kids they can wind up like robots & turn loose-— they can tell the kids, “dont worry about getting arrested, *our* lawyers will get you off.”
The first thing the lawyers do is suppress all photographic evidence of assaults, property damage, aggression. The judge never sees any of it, and anyway, the lawyers already know which judges are favorable to defense.
The prosecutor rolls over every time & allows this crap, under the misguided notion that “presumption of innocence” means criminals are allowed to suppress evidence.
Once the photo evidence of Antifa’s organized gang violence, showing them initiating assaults, is edited out, the court case becomes just a whine about their First Amendment right to “peacefully” protest having been violated by racist right-wing extremists in cahoots with racist cops.
My wife and I got to spend our honeymoon in Mallorca of the coast of Spain many years ago, and I got to see “The Blues Brothers” in Spanish...:)
