President Donald Trump implored Americans to come together Thursday in a show of national pride -- a rare unifying message from a deeply divisive President that came after days of controversy and criticism over his precedent-shattering military spectacle on the National Mall.
"We must go forward as a nation with that same unity of purpose," Trump said, filmed through rain-streaked bulletproof glass as showers beat steadily on his audience. "As long as we stay true to our course, as long as we remember our great history, as long as we never, ever stop fighting for a better future, then there will be nothing that America cannot do."
After a flyover from the plane that normally serves as Air Force One, Trump delivered 20 minutes of remarks that were an homage to the nation's early history and its military. But he also spoke about more recent advancements in civil rights and gender equality. And he looked ahead, declaring the American flag would soon be planted on Mars.

I don’t usually see CNN propaganda ... the writers there must have contests to see how many and how effectively phrases can be nuanced to the negative. The writing bleeds revulsion. No wonder CNN followers are angry and conflicted. If I read that (rap everyday my thinking would be messed up too.
CNN just doesn’t get it.
It is important to point out that CNN’s audience is the size of two MLB baseball games.
They are incredibly unimportant and obscure.
They sell booze at airports where patrons go to watch Fox vs. being inundated by BS.
I get so D tired of Trump and conservatives being called divisive. It is the Democrats, media and Leftists that are divisive. That is their goal, to divide and as usual blame others for their malfeasance. I used to say fine, we just have our differences but we can still be friends. No more, I want nothing to do with them and wouldn’t piss on one if he/she were on fire. I am done with them because of their destructive actions and attitude.

Trump still has to run for re-election. Not a smart move to mow down your constituents with an election coming up. In 2023 he’ll be a lame duck. He can wait ‘till then.

Yes it was. Although then I figured that is what they train for (to time their various attacks). Plus - the band was playing - and could do another refrain if the planes were a minute late.
But yes - that is what struck me too - how well it was all timed out. I suppose they had them staged at various points, and based on where President Trump was in his speech would give the fliers their cue.
I really enjoyed the little history lesson before each flyover. A proud shout-out to all of those that have served this nation both past and present.

That is the stupid left meme now. It rained on Trumps parade. Well I watched the parade and no rain. That was later in the day. Almost no rain during his speech. The left has become beyond worthless.

I read a laughable article from AP saying there were lots of people there however there is always a lot of people there on July 4th so in essence they may have been there to hear President Trump or maybe they were not - they were just there.
I watched it twice and loved it. Very patriotic and it made me feel happy and proud to be an American.
