An Oregon dad awoke to his 7-year-old daughters screams at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday to find a stranger trying to climb through her bedroom window, The Oregonian reported.
The soaking wet intruder bolted away, with the father, Ryan Luchs, giving chase through his Bethany, Oregon, apartment complex until he lost track of the man, KATU reported.
Washington County sheriffs deputies found a wallet on a plastic chair by a nearby hot tub and shortly afterward arrested Kord Knudsen, 30, also a complex resident, on suspicion of burglary, KGW reported.
Deputies say Knudsen, who left clothes scattered in his wake as he fled, admitted drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana before the incident, KPTV reported.
For both of our sakes, Im glad I didnt catch him, Im glad the cops did, Luchs said, KATU reported. When youre coming through my daughters window, Im not going to mess around.
Other tenants in the complex said they didnt recognize Knudsen, KOIN reported.
I live in a bottom unit and Ive never even thought about not leaving my window open but I wont from now on, said resident Susan Salmonsen, according to the station.

Oregon? And The father wasn’t arrested for scaring and stressing out the intruder?
Knudsen, who left clothes scattered in his wake...
Aptly named.
Meth. Meth has an effect on people breaking into other folks homes believing its their own home.
Looks like a soy boy
Sorry, as far as I am concerned it’s open season on anyone who enters a child’s room. Exterminate them now before some other child not so lucky is involved.
“a complex resident”
Not to be confused with a complex Non-Resident or a Non-Complex Resident...
Must have been an illegal alien!
Fathers are meant for just this sort of thing: Protect and provide. Well done sir!
Instead of “Chase’s off” it would have sounded better if it had said “blower his head off”
Wallet on the, chair by the hot tub? Clothes? How many wrong apartments did he enter? Burglary?
dude is lucky he’s not in the OR right now
He’s lucky he’s not on a cold slab in the morgue.
So does getting completely blackout drunk.
A few years ago a meth addled fellow went home, took off his clothes and dropped to sleep on the couch. Next morning the actual resident of the house, an old lady who lived alone found him and called the police. The guy lived at the same number one block over.
In this case, yes.
But the ones on meth, if they get into your house, they get in and try to kill everyone and don’t stop until you put them down.
Looks like a guy who needs to reevaluate his relationship with alcohol.
Blackout drunk. Probably doesn't remember much of what happened. Went out to party, having a good time, things started getting hazy and next thing he knows, he's waking up in jail. Probably didn't even realize he was climbing into some child's window. Alcohol makes alcoholics do crazy stuff.
There are two Oregon’s my friend. Portland and Eugene—and the rest of the state.
Oh that too
