I am sure you are correct on both counts, and what amazes me most of all is that a lot of people still think more government and more taxes are the solution. It does nobody any good of any race, color, creed, or legal status to have crappy schools; cramming 40 kids into a room to be lectured and sermonized. It is for so many reasons not conducive to individual achievement. Of course, there will always be self-starters and there will always been flunkies but an environment like that stifles independence and personal advancement; ignores the needs and talents of the kids; and protects the status quo which is woefully inadequate and anachronistic.
When I heard the Dem soundbites about “free education” I said to myself ‘education is already free’ and by that I mean many things; be it youtube university as they say, the internet, and most of all kids need to learn how to learn and then they don’t really a classroom per se. What we have are education cartels and institutions that protect those who profit and earn by it at the expense of the kids. These are the Democrats constituents so of course they want to keep throwing taxpayer money their way without regard to outcomes. It’s not ‘for the children’, it is for the staff; for if it were for the children they would have done away with the entire system as it now stands.
I think that they may be driving independents who work and have families away with their bs.
My wife has a few Nephews who are politically independents and we have a son who falls into that category.
This is the first election, they haven’t make fun of any if not all of our candidates.
They like President Trump and what he has done for the economy. They are labeling many of the lefties as bsing snowflakes.
A lot of these people work in construction, and in most areas, there is good work where they live. They like Trump’s tax cut and don’t want to waste that on losers.
They don’t like so called republicans, but many like President Trump.
We are not the just Greatest Nation on Earth, we are the Greatest Nation in the History of Humanity.
Our Friend’s Son works for the NYT. I have no idea what he does there but I decided to not ask his Parents simply because I would go ballistic if I found out he had anything to do with their Editorializing or Reporting.
It can happen. Remember Life, Look, Saturday Evening Post, US News and World Report... every household in the 60s and 70s had one of these and many had them all. Time and Newsweek are teetering, down from 4 million subscribers to a few hundred thousand. Then there were the NY Herald, the NY Ledger, the NY Journal American, the NY Morning Telegraph, the NY Tribune, the NY World-Telegram, the NY Guardian, the NY Sun...
The myth of the New York Times as the greatest newspaper on earth is at best outdated and at worst, wildly inaccurate. If you look at data, the NYT is really just O.K.

The NYT is evil. They promote a world view that would lead to mass suffering and death. They are “true believer” leftist and globalists that think their solution will save the world from Capitalism (i.e. freedom).
Most of the followers of that are only interested in wealth and power that they are promised.
