The Trump administration said Tuesday that it would be printing forms for the 2020 census without a question asking about citizenship, abandoning its quest to add the query after being blocked last week by the Supreme Court.
The decision is a victory for critics who said the question was part of an administration effort to skew the census results in favor of Republicans.

Shame on the SCOTUS for ruling against it, which they did, in effect.
Roberts is a jackass
The Trump administration said Tuesday that it was dropping a citizenship question from the 2020 census, days after the Supreme Court ruled against the questions inclusion.
Former Obama White House lawyer Daniel Jacobson made the revelation in a tweet Tuesday, sharing a screenshot of an email he received from a Justice Department lawyer confirming the decision.
DOJ attorney Kate Bailey confirmed the decision in an email sent Tuesday to groups challenging the question, a copy of which was obtained by The Hill.
“We can confirm that the decision has been made to print the 2020 Decennial Census questionnaire without a citizenship question, and that the printer has been instructed to begin the printing process,” Bailey wrote.
Justice Department spokeswoman Kelly Laco also confirmed that the citizenship question would not be included on the census.
President Trump had initially said after the ruling that he wanted to delay the 2020 census in order to continue to try to add a citizenship question to the form.
Another cave. Last week he was going to delay the census. This week give in to the leftists.
God I hate John Roberts so much.
Crap.
Disappointing to say the least, if true. Giving up is not typical for this President. I’m hoping this is not the final word.
No, skewing it in favor of Americans. Perhaps that's the same thing these days.
BOHICA.
Now we know why the Dems have worked so hard, and diligently, to get the invaders here, so fast :-(
They need to count the number of tax returns filed in each state and allot representation based on that number.
Not much Trump could do here - I doubt he could legally delay the census long enough to get it on there.
This one is all on Roberts I aint in no ways political
They’re printing census forms that don’t have the citizenship question. Does that necessarily mean it won’t ultimately be asked once the census actually occurs? Probably hopium on my part, but I’m hoping this is not the final word.
Even if illegal invasion stopped today, which is obviously has not, there are enough aliens to vote themselves ever more political power already.
Even if it all stopped today, they are popping out babies at rates that would make a rabbit blush.
But it won’t ever stop - the liberals, RINOs, and illegals have the power to stop any attempt, and those in a position to do so refuse to fight.
In other words, to quote Ann Coulter, adios America.
Next up, Dems will win when they find a Judge who will say President has turn over his tax returns. Very few wins with Judges for our President.
Roberts should be impeached.
Roberts’ nonsensical actions on Obamacare and now on the census confirm he has been compromised by the deep state.
That is a terrible blow to America’s future. Time to review our history - I’m starting with the lead up to 1861.
...... Gee .... Perish the thought that a Sovereign Nation should actually try to tally and find out the number of Citizens it has living within it’s borders ......
I suspect that Mr. Trump has an alternative approach to garnering that information
Trump did not have a choice.
He wanted to delay the census and provide more justification to SCOTUS, as they requested.
But apparently there is some law that would not allow a delay of the census. That did not allow sufficient time to get in front of SCOTUS again.
