Army of unpaid volunteers updating pages by the minute. This model has its drawbacks too, of course.

Didn’t a well-known pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals die mid-season about 15 years ago?
To: NohSpinZone
I have to say, so far I have not frequently seen slanted pages from them.
They tend to be relatively unbiased on their pages, if not in their hearts, but that’s ok.

I find plenty of bias, but it’s one of the best sites for sports and music data.

Police statement released via twitter refers to 'unconscious male' identified as Skaggs was found 'nonresponsive' in his hotel room, pronounced dead at the scene... no foul play suspected, but investigation is (obviously) ongoing.

Suicide? Overdose? Undiagnosed heart condition?
To: dp0622
Radio news does not give a cause, either, but says he last pitched Saturday for 5 innings.

I have a daughter who is 27.
I also have a friend whose nephew is on the Angels roster.
This really hits home. Very sad. RIP, Tyler.

Yes, Darryl Kile died just before a game against the Chicago Cubs in 2002. He was just 34 years old, and died from a heart attack in his hotel room.
The Cardinals still have a plaque in their bullpen "DK 57" in remembrance.

Very true. For contentious topics, you definitely have to be on the lookout for bias but for more factual information like cities, mathematics, chemicals, diseases, science topics, etc., it is a good resource.

I recall...There have also been players
who died in plane or car crashes. Some Cleveland Indians perished in a
Fla. boat crash.

SBNation:
