Didn’t a well-known pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals die mid-season about 15 years ago?
Suicide? Overdose? Undiagnosed heart condition?
I have a daughter who is 27.
I also have a friend whose nephew is on the Angels roster.
This really hits home. Very sad. RIP, Tyler.
20 hours ago he was posting on Instagram about his upcoming road trip to Texas.

Hope it wasn’t a Ken Caminiti situation.
Angels are said to be cursed.
Obviously curses aren’t real. But it makes one almost believe.
To this day, one of the deaths that probably devastated me the most was Pistol Pete, at 40:
On January 5, 1988, Maravich collapsed and died of heart failure at age 40, while playing in a pickup basketball game in the gym at First Church of the Nazarene in Pasadena, California, with a group that included evangelical author James Dobson. Maravich had flown out from his home in Louisiana to tape a segment for Dobson’s radio show that aired later that day. Dobson has said that Maravich’s last words, less than a minute before he died, were “I feel great. I just feel great.” An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a rare congenital defect; he had been born with a missing left coronary artery, a vessel that supplies blood to the muscle fibers of the heart. His right coronary artery was grossly enlarged and had been compensating for the defect.
It was actually a miracle he even made it to 40.

List of players that died and how.
I was just looking at this page yesterday.
On Tuesday June 18th 2002 Darryl Kile won his last game in a 7-2 win over the Angels. This put the Cards into 1st for the rest of the season. Jack Buck died that night.
On Saturday the 22nd Kile died.
The Angels were in town this year on June 21st-23rd. The 22nd was again on a Saturday.
Albert Pujols was a Cardinal on that 2002 team and is of course now an Angel.
Both the Cardinals and Angels have lost a few active players recently.
RIP.
